The Wise Woman’s Tarot by Flash Silvermoon
I will be offering a new feature for Pagan Ways. Grannymoon has asked me to do a 3 month reading for all the signs of the zodiac so that each of you can keep up with your shifts and changes during these ‘interesting times’.
I will be using my Wise Woman’s Tarot so I thought that it would be best to give you a little taste of the Divinatory Tool itself;
Meet The Wise Woman’s Tarot…….
The Wise Woman’s Tarot is a multicultural, matriarchal book with colorful companion deck. It celebrates the global female lineage in 78 powerful images. (read on…)

I am aware this AM that I have much to do right here right now in Moonhaven to fine tune the abundant and powerful energies. These feelings entered my awareness after a most shamanic and blissful spirit walk around my land with Jaz and Red to the sacred sites I have consecrated.
The vibe is very deep and sweet and I am feeling very passionate about writing this book,”Lifetime Companions”, and the journey inward that I am being shown. It is a very magical/subtle place, this realm of earth and water spirits/faeries and owls named Sophia that come to deliver sacred messages when you most need them!
I recognize, that at least for right now, time is not infinite, yet it can expand. I want to focus on the most perfect balance that I can create for myself so that my priorities are clear and well directed and of course I want to ideally experience ecstasy while doing it! Such humble goals I entertain!

On one level, I do think that some of us in the early 70’s first wave of Women’s Spirituality were out to cause a revolution/evolution in spritual /feminist thought. We were basically expressing ourselves and embracng what felt right. None of us tended to bend under pressure either…
Intense resistance from all sides in part honed our path which necessitated our fierecness and heightened our joy as well. I know that Z would echo my displeasure at the fact that Dianics [and I consider myself Dianic/Ecclectic or Womanspirt] have been totally marginalized by mainstream and or traditional pagan groups.
The swell of the Goddesses ranks grew in direct relationship to the work of the early Dianics who were melding Wicca and Feminism which created a Womanspirit Movement which literally swept the country and parts of the world.
Clearly, The Goddess was Alive and Magic was A foot, a hand and everything else.

Thank you so much for agreeing to share with us! Please do tell us about yourself and feel free to be as in depth as you like!We would love to print your picture too!
ok I will pick a couple for ya
Where were you born and raised and what are some of your earliest memories?
I was born in the presence of my mother on March 18, 1950, in Jersey City, NJ. I am quite sure that my room must have faced the Statue of Liberty because I have been a freedom fighter for as long as I can remember. They tell me that after singing Happy Birthday to me on my first birthday, I smiled and put my fist through the cake!
My first Feminist action took place in kindergarten at 4 yrs of age. I had been participating in the rhythm band for a couple of weeks just waiting for my turn to play the snare drum. I had clicked the claves and clanged the triangle but that magic moment when my sticks would strike the skin of the DRUM was awaiting me that morning or so I thought. I was not raised to think that girls were inferior to boys so imagine my surprise when I had the sticks taken from my hands and was told that girls could play anything but this and that I could go to the back of the line again.
My little egalitarian heart was breaking but I screwed up my courage to tell the teacher that this was unfair and was there something else that I could do during this time as I didn’t want to be a part of something so unfair. She told me that I could fingerprint and so I stood in the corner for the rest of the year and finger-painted during the rhythm band time.
This theme and connection with the drums has followed me all the way through adulthood and today am appreciated as an accomplished percussionist. (read on…)

from J Marie, Guest Blogger:
Hello Sisters,
I just wanted to take a moment to share with you all the awesome spiritual experience of Autumn Equinox at MoonHaven. We met at the mystical home of our priestess, the esteemed Crone, Flash Silvermoon and shared a feast and stories. Some of us knew each other some had never met and all connected.
My partner, SallieAnn told stories of LW, her ex-husband from 1974 who showed up on her door step a year ago and we laughed until our sides ached. I am there when these vignettes unfold and the recounting in Sallies inimitable, irreverent style just reduces me to helplesss giggles.Maybe I’ll write a little of the stuff after this post.
Following the “dinner show” we retired to the chapel in this Goddess blest cathederal. The chapel is a gazebo home of Goddess avatars and crystal grids and esoterica that herself understands but I do not……..Yet.

I have definitely been in my share of “Infamous Circles” so I will turn on the time machine to share space with you so to speak regarding a ritual referred to in Margot Adler’s Drawing Down the Moon.I forget now exactly what the chapter was called, but it was the first pages of a chapter about a circle in Staten Island NY,might have been called New Witches or Pagans.
Anyway it was a most steamy summer night and it was a Full Moon if memory serves so I decided that we should do a bathing ritual as the women’s home had a beautiful big old bathroom with clawfoot tub. One by one ,crones first we each in turn got into the warm tub filled with flowers and aromatic oils to be adored and cleansed by our sisters. I was probably only 27 then or even younger. It was soooo beautiful and I remember my then lover Pandora playing her flute standing on the toileet seat, Kate Millett who was part of this first NYC Coven, The Amelia Earhardt Coven, initiated the first dip into the lovely waters and marvelled on how exotic it all felt.

Sacred Sex is something that I have long understood from both past lives and my current one. All ancient cultures [ BP before Partriarchy] had these ritesand some of the most ancient of them were engaged in by women. In fact the ancient Arani used the same word for wood as for woman and it was their most ancient secret ritual for making fire. In other words, women would rub against each other to create fire and this is not at ll like the Promethian myth of new school mythos. (read on…)

I have had a taxing but exciting day romping through the folds of the 5th Dimension with clients and my own issues and feeling very exhilarated by it all.
As I sit at my computer, I can hear the mysterious hooting of one of the Barred owls that surround my home here at Moonhaven. Her call draws me outside to commune with her. She seems to be about 10 feet away in one the big trees. My home, Moonhaven, is surrounded by a grove of ancient Live Oaks that wrap their wooden arms around my lavender house.
The owl, who I have come to call Sophia, was loud and insistent like she was trying to get my attention. Her night call always gets my attention and will just as often bring me outdoors to hear her more closely.
