Summer Rain Brings New Life to Moonhaven

Iam so enjoying the fragrance from the key lime blossoms that are almost coated with happy bumble bees and butterflies this morning. The constat daily thunderstorms that replaced the searing drought have brought a sort of ecstatic aliveneness to the devas,land and plants of Moonhaven .
Because I have this new Happy pup, my days start earlier and I get to see the morning dew on the Meyer’s lemon tree .These humongous grapefruit sized lemons and this tree came from an ancient tree from a friends granny in Alabama
I am blessed with an orchard of some 7 tangerine trees and a sour orange tree which is basically the root stock. I planted 2 of the tangerine trees which are now in the horse pasture but the others really started producing after I had lived here for awhile.and basically did nothing as a gardner but did many rituals in the area.
People joke about Moonhaven being like Jurasic Park because everything grows so large here.
The constant daily thunderstorms are creating elephant ears that are 10 feet high no lie!.
Moonnhaven in Melrose which is in North Central Florida is actually located over several strong vortices and ley lines..
The undisputed Goddessmother and centerpiece of the foliage is the Grandmother Tree. She is a 500 plus year old live oak that was split some 300 years ago by lightning and not only survived but thrives wrapping her enormous and generous limbs around my space like some amazing earth sculpture.
We are co-guardians of this land and no doubt for each other as well. She has recently extended one of her limbs almost entirely across the back of my housel
As I stand outside I can see how the oak grove literally embraces my home and wraps itself even closer than last year.
I planted an avocado pit some 10 years ago and now a producing tree towers over me as does a Mulberry tree when I take my daily outdoor shower.I am by no means a good gardener but the soil and energetics here are great not to mention Chinamoon’s magical droppings. which even produce magic mushrooms if the weather is right. She is also my walking lawn mower and weed wacker. In short, I have a rather large four leggeed gardner. The plants that do well here are those that she doesn’t want to eat and the Goddess and local climate sustains.
I don’t seem to be able to get to the fruit from my fig trees ,mulberries or loquats before the birds do. Needless to say I have loads of birds here of every kind from the songbirds to the owls and hawks and an occasional eagle.
The owls have been rather quiet of late but more often than not a group of Barred owls can be heard seeking one another with their wild and mournful calls at midnight hooting to each other across the ancient twisted oak groves of Moonhaven
If you have never heard a group of Barred owls making love in the night it can be scarey and quite bizarre sounding but here it is all part of the night music.
The Sandhill Cranes circle from a nearby wetland when they are in town sounding more like a gaggle of geese.
It’s only an acre and 1/2 but it feels like so much more,in fact, its sort of like another world .
I do believe that my double Piscean soul created it that way not to mention was attracted to such a magical place form the start.
Clearly it was no accident that I became the caretaker of such a space and these very words were spoken to me one misty morning on the bank of Melrose Bay by a chorus of Indian spirits. They were most emphatic and repetitive in their message to me regarding my job,presence,and rootedness in Moonhaven in Melrose and who am I to argue a truth so deep?
