Hello Sisters,

I just wanted to take a moment to share with you all the awesome spiritual experience of Autumn Equinox at MoonHaven. We met at the mystical home of our priestess, the esteemed Crone, Flash Silvermoon and shared a feast and stories. Some of us knew each other some had never met and all connected.

My partner, SallieAnn told stories of LW, her ex-husband from 1974 who showed up on her door step a year ago and we laughed until our sides ached. I am there when these vignettes unfold and the recounting in Sallies inimitable, irreverent style just reduces me to helplesss giggles.Maybe I’ll write a little of the stuff after this post.

Following the “dinner show” we retired to the chapel in this Goddess blest cathederal. The chapel is a gazebo home of Goddess avatars and crystal grids and esoterica that herself understands but I do not……..Yet.

Flash spoke of the feel of the Equinox to her and of the changing of the seasons and of new beginings and of the function and hope for the ritual we were about to engage, With each important statement, there was voiced agreement from the hawks, birds, Goddess equus, ChinaMoon and even from Big Red the boss cat and the frogs answered too. When Flash said something specific to one of the four directions, often it was from that direction that her familiar answered. It brings a frisson to write it now but at the time seemed perfectly ordinary and usual. MoonHaven is Magickal.

We cleansed with sage smudge and shared of our souls.The Spirit of the Frog assisted us in releasing that in our selves/world/soul that we needed or wanted to be done with and we shared an elixir of spiced cider with ourselves, sisters, and the Goddess as we opened ourselves to the new beginings that the season pressages.

Finally, we went to the Pool-in-the-East where,( as the Mother does in this time of Harvest ) we planted seeds to symbolize our new beginings and to affirm, as wimmin, as feminists, our place in the turning of the Wheel of Life. Our joining with the Mother in being bearers and bringers of new life through the labors of our bodies, our minds, our spirit and our words.

And the Ritual was fulfilled.

JMarie, thanks so much for the lovely recounting of our Circle. It is very exciting to me that we are finally starting the Moonhaven Mystery School,this being our first official event as a group.

You are right when you say that at each calling of the directions and other proclamations of note, that the animals responded vigorously and from all manner of life.Amazing as we spoke of Frog Medicine and the frogs in the hood revved up the volume of their song 3 fold,
My Mare loves to get into the act and can always be counted on to punctuate a sacred moment with a neigh or a snort and tonight was no exception. She is truly the Priestess of the Eastern Gate and loves being included and helping. Nothing like some Horsepower!

Moonhaven’s birds are very tuned in. and you can hear anything from hawks to owls,osprey,eagles,vultures,dove’s,jays,flickers and woodpeckers ,crows and ravens ruby throated hummingbirds,wrens,finches.,herons and so many more whose names I don’t even know.. Later in the fall the sandhill cranes circle and sound like a gaggle of geese letting everyone know that they are around.

I could barely believe the heralding whole family of Hawks as we began our circle. There must have been 1/2 dozen all spreading the word that Moonhaven and her sisters are Raising the Vibe for the Tribe!

The morning that I first decided that I would in fact begin the school here, the animals,birds insects, butterflies and plants were all in a titter about what would occur. I could hear the spirits of the land jumping up and down with glee because they will now be able to work with many as is there wish. Some of the women will create a core group that will come each week and a few more will come as they can and we will have a wonderful time growing and learning from Mama and each other.

I was told before moving to Florida that I had much teaching to do here and 32 years later,it is still true and perhaps more than ever as I approach my years as an Elder. Funny in so many ways I do not feel like an Elder but more like a wild child on the loose in her natural playground. On the other hand when I get up after a full day of working, I know that I am indeed an Elder as my body aches,but then I am up and ready to do it all over again.

I don’t know who told me that I should set up the schedule that I have from now thru Nov 5 but it should be really interesting.Tonight the owls call me and my Jazzy is back from her sojourn with the spirit world. I am relieved. Moonhaven is vibrating at a nice even hum today as life blossoms and blooms.

Earlier,I taught an honors class at the University of Florida on Magic,Witchcraft,and Mysticism. This Prof hires me about 5 times a year to teach her classes so that they get the real deal as she puts it.

I tried to give them a good understanding of the terrorism of Church and State during the “Burning Times”as well.

I spoke to them of Ethics re Magic and Love Spells in particular.Probably did about 10 quick mini readings which really made their collective eyes I talked to the students also about Tazing and Human Rights as you know it was at this Campus last week that that event took place so I figured it was good grist for the mill.
