Everyday Living a Dianic Life
I have often described myself as a woman who walks inside her Spirituality everyday. It is like my skin and involves and encompasses everything that I do.
I would also say more accurately, that I live the life of a Dianic Priestess. My work is about as traditional as you can get for a Priestess as I use Divination, Vibrational Healing for people and animals,Astrology,Music, Crystal Healing, Ritual and much more witchy things in my practice.
On any given day, I am as likely to read a clients cards, find a missing cat, treat a tiger for Grief and Loss, help a couple heal their relationship through the use of a Composite Astrological Chart, sell some stones, make a Gem Elixir, play a concert for Gay Pride, lecture at the University of Florida on Women’s Spirituality, create and lead a ritual or just love my land and critters and encounter the magic of the wild things, plants and trees that live here with me at Moonhaven.
It is not the life that everyone can live but it is the only life that works for me and is clearly my Destiny. I have essentially lived this way for some 37 years more or less. I feel totally Blessed to be able to live as I do where everything that I do, I basically love. It may sound like an easy life but I assure you that it is not and has required many sacrifices over the years not the least of which is having an irregular income that is totally based on what I earn by my own wits.
You also do need to be mostly available to your community as well within reason. I love my connection with nature and particular with the animals and the rock world. Each and every animal that comes to live with me is indeed a master teacher and the more that I recognize this and respect the wisdom that they bring the more rich and vibrant my life becomes.
Taking the time to notice the phases of the Moon or the gathering of owls at midnight, my Mare’s superior weather wisdom, or just the pleasure in the way that water from my outdoor shower makes my skin tingle in the wind: all these experiences on a daily basis open my Spirit to the wonders of the Goddess and her many manifestations.
It has been clear to me for the better part of my adult life that one of my jobs is to be myself and teach by example, to encourage people and particularly women to trust themselves, their first impulse or inner knowing, which can only empower others that encounter them and so the spiral continues to essentially elevate the whole planet.
Basically one must walk their path in a grounded way with integrity and a beginner’s mind so that life maintains its fluidity and wonder. Being in the moment as well as making plans for the things that matter may seem like a contradiction but truly only helps me achieve balance.
I have an equal and abiding love for the Ancient as well as the Now and need both to make my magic feel real yet rooted in something that extends backwards in time to my Ancestors from this life and others.
When I think about it, there is little that is ordinary or mundane about my life and that works for me too.
As recently as 10 years ago, I would have never dreamed that I would be living with a horse or huddling in a cage with a tiger giving him Reiki, and Homeopathy and essentially saving his life. These are some of the bonuses of living a creative and unbounded life not dictated by 9-5, corporate reality or the security that that life offers either.
I also participate in other traditions and paths such as Yoruba,Native American, and Tantric and find a richness that helps create what I call a Rainbow Path. I love incorporating these paths with my Dianic World as it gives them a Goddess-Centered perspective as well and makes me feel even more connected to the world. I am very careful not to appropriate what is not mine in this blending of ways and see it more as walking a Rainbow Path in Diversity, than the old melting pot idea where nothing can remain sacred and intact in its original form.
So now, I must go walk my talk and keep my animals and my own body happy by making us all breakfast…and yes we will all eat differnt things out of differnt bowls and experience the diversity of our diets. No hierarchy here either as I am usually the last link of the food chain.
This has been a very provacative /evocative subject.
Many Blessings
