All Hail the Lion King, Jumanji passes
I cried like a baby when I heard the news about Jumangi’s passing yesterday and am going over today to pay my respects and give Jaye and Gail some support. I know that this has been a very hard loss for them. This is a Rescue Sanctuary and as Gail pointed out to me that death is all a part of the process, still there are some that just tug on your heart strings and it was Jumanji who first tugged on mine and whose story brought me to EARS the first time.
At the time I had just lost my sweet dog Bear who was just the dog of my Heart and I was inconsolable. Shortly thereafter Jaye called me about coming over to EARS as she had heard of my animal work. I read Jumanji’s story on their website and I was a goner. I knew that this invitation to EARS had Bear’s pawprints all over it because it was going to take someting as awesome as 40+Big Cats to begin to help me get over losing my Bear Boy….and it was going to take a Big Cat as awesome as Jumanji to keep me going through some of the other huge losses over the years. Going to Ears has been such a healing place for me and a place for me to heal the animals. I never could have dreamed 20 years ago to have had the honor to call a lion or a tiger my friends or to know special women like Gail and Jaye who care for some 45 Big Cats, most of them tigers.Today’s visit will be bittersweet but always so very heartfelt.
MY FAVORITE LION JUMANJI HAS PASSED AWAY@ www.BigCatSanctuary.org, EARS
I will visit today and miss him forever. He was a true Lion King and the most awesome cat you would ever want to meet. His heart was as big as he was. He is survived by a whole Sanctuary full of gorgeous cats including Sierra the Lioness above.I know he has a special piece of sanctuary owners Jaye and Gail’s hearts too. From the day he got there,@EARS,it became their task to help him feel loved again as the previous owner had abandoned him after being his constant companion of 2 years. I remember those early days and treated him myself for Abandonment and Abuse and Grief. Another Communicator had worked w/ him just before I got there and affirmed what all could see that the great Jumanji was literally dying of a broken heart as he would not eat. His owner used to hand feed him and he just could not get over that loss for some time. With total love and patience Jaye and Gail finally got him eating regularly and putting back his normal weight and he healed. I remember working on him with a woman who could work on his spine. I was feeding him flower essences through his fence as she ,also working through the fence, released each vertebrae in his back. by the time she had gotten to the base of his skull, he opened his huge mouth and released a big sigh.I can still hear Jaye singing him a chorus of her song for him “Manjo Man”
I will go today and pay my respects to my one and only Lion King, Jumanji. We will all miss his big voice and big heart.
Blessings
