Tree Magic at Moonhaven
Here at Moonhaven the trees have surely been teaching me. Some 10 years ago or so while in meditation my guides or perhaps the devas of this place spoke to me of what they wanted me to do for them and they were quite specific. They wanted me to arrange stumps bowls and stones around 4 particular trees. As I began to fulfill my task, I noticed that the 4 trees chosen actually made a cross in my yard. (read on…)

SPIRIT’S STORY SPIRIT SPIR BEAR, BEAR and Tonka Too

  I have been waiting for quite some time to tell the story of my beloved dog Spirit. Interesting too that at this time I am dogless for the first time since I found Luna in 1973.  Actually there was a span of 2 years after Luna passed that I was dogless but for most of my adult life, I have been graced with wonderful canine company. Tonight is also the eve of Spirit/Bear’s passing on Mother’s Day some 7 years ago.
I am now feeling ready for another dog in my life and am hoping that Spirit/Bear will feel that it is a good time to return to me on this side of the veil. (read on…)

SACRED RIVER SACRED SPRING
I have never been to a man made grotto or any of the well known ones however there is a particular spring head in the Itchetuknee River which is a crystal clear turquoise blue spring fed river and this one in particular, known as the Blue Hole, is a grotto for sure. I have had the same feeling diving into other spring heads in the many springs and rivers of this kind in Florida but the Blue Hole to me is like diving into the Yoni of Oshun. (read on…)

Lions and Tigers and Flash Oh My

Its been a long time since I had a day off of leisure without a new crisis rearing its head but this Sunday, I seized the moment to go to one of my favorite places on the planet, EARS Endangered Animal Rescue Sanctuary run by my 2 friends Gail and Jaye www.BigCatSanctuary.org check this place out if you want to see some gorgeous big cats.
I have been going there to treat and love these beautiful, awesome cats and other creatures for about9 years. During this time I havve built some wonderful relationships with many of the animals there. I have bottle fed some of the tigers that are there since they were no bigger than one of my house cats. One never expects to suddenly wind up in a tiger’s cage pulling this awesome animal from the jaws of death but sometimes, the Goddess has other plans for you and you had best be up to the task at hand!
May 16 was just such a day in my life.
The Full Moon in Sagittarius pushed me back to The Endangered Animal Rescue Sanctuary[EARS], to work on healing Duke, one of the biggest and most splendid tigers you will ever see. I had visited him on Saturday when I heard that he was not doing well and joined the “Duke team” of supporters many of whom have alternated sleeping near his cage for many nights as this case has evolved. As a matter of fact, between Jaye,Gail, Cristina,Morgan,Susan,Amy,Kelly, Craig, and me,Duke has not spent a minute without human company in at least two and a half weeks and believe me he is loving it!. This past Saturday I had to help my dear devoted dog Appaloosa[Apple] rejoin his beloved Bear[Spirit] both shown here. He was the last of a grooup of 4 of my dogs. Originally he had been Bear’s dog and nearly died of grief when Bear passed and slowly Apple began to totally bond with me becoming more of a people’s dog. (read on…)

Thanks so much for posing these provocative questions as I am very much struggling with them myself. I have been quietly acknowledging to myself that I am feeling blue and missing my core of friends all of whom died within a year of each other. I have made other friends but the deep kind don’t come easy.
Being the community Priestess and Shaman doesn’t always help either as all assume that you are fine always.
I rarely if ever get really depressed but I can feel it poking around my edges like a little frost in this cooler time.
So after contemplating these questions, I said to myself, Enough of This and lit my favorite incense in every room and proceeded to go out to feed my beautiful Appaloosa Mare.
I know that I find my deepest peace and sustenance in this Shamanic realm that I co - create under the loving arms of the Grandmother Tree in my White Room (read on…)

I like to celebrate the coming of the Sacred Love Goddesses starting on Feb 2 with Imbolc,Candlemas,Brigid’s Day and so on.
Mainstream culture likes to deify St. Valentine and give this bloodthirsty slayer of women the one day of the year that Love is supposed to Rule. How totally bizarre  and how the hell did he manage to grab that gig? I could research but let’s just chalk that up to the  badass patriarchy.
This just does not work for me at all so for years, I have celebrated  the time between Imbolc and Feb 14 or so as the Feast of Aphrodite. During this time one can delight in all manner of love rituals [as long as they are non-manipulative] and generally pump up your love groove. (read on…)

Falling for a Venusian/Uranus/Saturn TSquare 

It had been a long but rewarding day of reading for and treating dogs at Earth Pets Holistic Pet Market. I do this monthly and it is always gratifying to see the little ones change before my eyes after treating them with understanding and flower essences.
I had a nice dinner with a friend  and then went to this lovely gourmet Fresh Market to shop.
Typically, I am home immediately after so that I can put my horse in  before dark and feed her but today my Venusian needs won out over my Saturn in Virgo regimen.Rebellions Uranus who likes to shake up routine must have stoked that one too opposing Saturn. (read on…)

ANIMAL FAMILIES OF MOONHAVEN

Its so wonderful to see how animals in a family actually behave like family. My crew shows me their devotion to each other time and time again.
As I am writing this story,my mare Chinamoon is looking in the window at me working,and my dog Apple is asleep behind me on the floor and my two boy cats Star and Red are fast asleep next to me on chairs,while if I look out the other window on the opposite side, my most witchly black cat Jasmine is asleep on the hot tub cover. I am totally surrounded and totally loved too. Tucky is elsewhere being mystical no doubt. (read on…)
