Since 2003, we women have yet to change the world into a place of Peace, Justice, and Healing. We will take the opportunity of the Wise Woman’s Festival to gather again to put our wisest and best efforts towards that end. If anything, the need for peace and healing is more dire than ever before in our lives. Through spirited work and play, we will join together once more to restore our energies which have been so depleted by the ravages of war, the patriarchy,and the no-fundamentalists who are fundamentally ruining the world for the rest of us. By renewing our strength and coming together in the spirit of love, empowerment and healing, we can elevate the vibration of the planet, our sweet Mother Earth, for the good of the animals, the children, the ancestors and all the people… ALL OUR RELATIONS!!
YES THERE HAS BEEN CHANGE BUT WE STILL NEED TO CHANGE THE PARADIGM

Why have a Wise Woman Festival?

As the 7th Wise Woman’s Festival approaches its April 9th Re- Birth, I hear the question from some folks..why?

There are many answers to this question, some more obvious than others. Let’s face it, anytime the tribes of Wise Women from near and far can gather to make music and magic, its a good thing we all know this. This is an invitation to Change The World, not such an ambitious feat for a Circle of Wisewomen!

Communing in nature with your women friends, attending fascinating workshops/hearing some of the finest women musicians around and sharing deep spaces of intuition and inspiration is always inviting.

With all that being said, I offer yet another factor as well. The concept of Homeopathy is among other things a way to treat the whole by treating a part. It is no secret that this world is in turmoil and on the edge of major trouble on many fronts. Interestingly, if you look at Florida as the place where the fabulous Bush Boys gained their foothold on the world via those lovely non ballots, it is not a bizarre concept to see this state as a place to begin to unwind the web of betrayals of the real evildoers.

Let Peace and an end to the Power over Patriarchal Paradigm begin here and now with we women. Let us bring the seeds of peace and global cooperation into reality by breathing life into this dream; to let it be more than just a dream ; something that we co create and manifest amongst ourselves. We can create a ripple effect, a 100th monkey idea if you will that can spread like a Tidal Wave of love, trust, and healing.

By being the change we want to see in this world for one weekend, we can effect the world by being that acupuncture needle in the state of Florida to unblock the stagnant chi and create a flow of new ideas for peace, freedom and justice not for just us but for all.

This is a most unique Gathering of the Tribes where Dianic Wiccans share ritual and magic with Native Medicine Women, Shamans with Yoruba, Pagans with New Age Women and many exquisite blends in our Rainbow Cosmic Gumbo! We wild, wise women will teach and learn the ways to heal ourselves and our Mother as we all cope and roll with the shifts and changes that these times demand.

This is not so much a crisis in economics as it is in Spirit. We have been poisoned by toxic doses of fear by a prevailing culture that knows that this will freeze and paralyze us all into hopelessness which is an easy way to control us.

I know, the nose isn’t quite as straight as it could be but see we rough and tumble Aries lead with our heads. INSPIRATIONAL JUPITER
I really do like to do the right thing when I can find one. I have been so damn frustrated with Saturn squashing my Mars that give me a little expansive Jupiterian juice and I am off screaming against the wind FREE AT LAST!
For those who might noy know ASTROSPEAK, Jupiter is the rotund planet o expansion, generosity, wide ranging spiritul phiosophies, and an oveall buoyant countenance. Jupiter has recently entered my sign of Pisces and I am liking it already.
Mind you, even with the inspirational boost, it’s like pulling teeth to keep my 3 ring kozmic circus spinning like a top. I believe that the essence of the Jupiter trine that I am experiencing now was cooking during last years never ending Jupiter return mixing it up with Neptune and Chiron.
You enjoy a Jupiter return about every 112 years when it returns to the placement at your birth.
Jupiter of course doesn’t know the meaning of “enough” or”no” which can place one on the excess express even if its good stuff like festivals and benefits, or radio shows or…..!
I believe that I will not even know exactly what and how I have changed in such big ways til good old Uranus starts cuddling up with my Sun and Moon zapping them into the next dimensional shift! As I write this, I can even sense the universal master plan as each transit does its work on my consciousness. I am wanting to say ” dirty work” because sometimes it really pisses me off when the transits feel so restrictive and also because my wise mouth Pluto in the third house opposes Jupiter widely and its kind of demanding some underground street cred for its deep doing.
If only my body can handle the intense energetic shifts that are clearly happening. Perhaps I can have some positive transformations in that way as well.

A Favorite Solstice Ritual By Flash Silvermoon @ Moonhaven
Flash Silvermoon shares her thoughts for the Winter Solstice.

Along with jumping over the fire to affirm one’s new path, which is a wonderful tried and true ritual, I have created a fun and third eye opening ritual for Yule.

Tell all who come to your circle to bring a wrapped gift of something that they want to pass on. It needn’t be new but it can be and not too expensive… just something you want to pass on.
These gifts are placed in a box or sack in the center of the group.
The woman who begins has the Priestess or group member place a lovely blindfold over her eyes and then she reaches into the sack and lets the gift pick her. At this point she uses psychometry (a form of object reading where the diviner tunes into the object and gets impressions re the gift or giver) to divine the message from the gift etc. (read on…)

ASTROLOGICAL MUSINGS, PLANETARY SHIFTS, AND 2012
I am and have been dealing with the relationship or planets Pluto opposite Uranus in my chart for the better [or worst lol] part of the year and it has been most interesting to be sure. Today I finally had a real aha moment standing on a powerful ley line in my yard. I feel as though my identity and relationship with others has morphed.
I have been watching and listening to fascinating information re revelations about the actual location of the North Pole and some quantum physics stuff about the wobble of the earth and calculating this certain type of earth physics [I forget the exact name of this term] and how there needs to be a re alignment with the North Pole as it should be and where it is and I just had this incredible notion. Interesting synchronicity today as I contemplate the needless tragic deaths in the “Sweatlodge” of last week. I have been furious ever since I heard the News commentator release the sad report about James Arthur Ray’s “Spiritual Warrior Retreat in Sedona, Ariz.
At $9,000 + a pop to sit at the feet of this Guru wannabe, we are seeing the Corporatization of Spirituality, Enlightenment to those who can afford it, God /Goddess sold to the highest bidder!
I had initially been pleased that “The Secret” had opened some people to positive thinking but as I saw it take on a Cultish twist where people started essentially blaming the downtrodden for not having a fat bank account and casting condescending glances as if they alone had the ANSWER.
Then I actually saw the film which begins with of all things, a man in a loin cloth, running away from persecutors because HE HAS THE SECRET! Talk about re-writing History and giving it a radical mastectomy to boot! Everyone should know that it was the Wise Women of old who had the secret and that it was no secret, no big deal just simply understanding that what one believes can indeed create and give shape to one’s reality. WOODSTOCK 40 YEARS LATER:
SEEDS FOR A NEW CONSCIOUSNESS

It’s really hard to wrap my head around the fact that Woodstock happened 40 years ago on Aug 15 1969! They say that if you can remember the 60’s, which were really the late 60’s, then you weren’t there but I beg to differ.

It amazes me that my memories of those days and particularly Woodstock are as vivid as if they were yesterday. Considering the substances that flowed through my system that weekend, it is even more amazing.

There were two festivals occurring in my hood that month and I knew that I could only manage getting to one of them and thank the Goddess and all the Muses, that I decided that Woodstock was a better concert than the Atlantic City Fest which also looked pretty good.

During the summer of ‘69, I had gone cross-country to California and actually saw and met Grace Slick singing with the Jefferson Airplane at the Fillmore West in San Francisco. She and Janis were my idols and I was still flying high from the experience by the time I returned to New Jersey and prepared for Woodstock. I mention this adventure in Kali-fornia because while waiting on line to get into that Airplane concert, a funny little man saw me at the front of the line and asked me to save him a seat near me and he would “give me some good dope.” I said yes and would have helped him without the offer. I figured that he would give me a joint but instead he gave me a little purple pill that I immediately tucked into my amethyst poison ring for just the right occasion. I was actually traveling with my parents so this was clearly NOT the right time. As I write this part of me is saying, “Are you crazy taking a pill from a stranger?” But you must understand, those were different days and amongst the circles of folks that I traveled, people still had honor and trust with such things. MOONHAVEN IN MELLOW ROSE HOME SWEET HOME

Moonhaven is an illuminating and mystical space and I feel that this place is my home to the very core of me. It is a space so familiar yet continually offers surprises when I take the time to wander amidst the citrus groves, listen to the night call of the many Barred owls, or sit beneath the welcoming arms of the ancient Grandmother Tree.

The Grandmother Tree is a 500 + year old Live Oak that was struck and split in two by lightning some 300 years ago. Now she presides over Moonhaven like some all-enveloping Druid Priestess.

What an incredible metaphor for Flash Silvermoon to live beside this Phoenix, this awesome earth sculpture that was struck by lightning and not only didn’t die but thrived winding its moss laden arms around my lavender house!

It would not be at all difficult to imagine or perhaps even see the Faeries playing around and under this Ancient One dancing draped in Spanish Moss with acorn caps.

This majestic tree enchanted my Pagan soul into buying this homestead and becoming her caretaker. I have been honored to be in service of such a profound offering from Mother.Earth.

MANUELO MELLOW FELLOW

If I had to describe Manuelo’s energy, his would be like vanilla or maybe more like honey. So smooth,silky and sweet. Put this little guy in the mix and everyone just blends better. He brought new life and joy to all of us at Moonhaven but especially to me.
I had been having a difficult time after too many recent animal losses and I had pretty well shut my heart down.
Odd to say that because on the day of his arrival, my heart literally hurt from being too open while Priestessing the spirit release of a man in my community who had committed suicide with a coke OD.
Tara was helping me process and release this pain and suggested that it was perhaps a knock on the door to my hear chakra.
Not a moment later a knock came at the French doors that opened into the back office.. I swear the Goddess does indeed play hard ball with me!
One of my neighbors appeared in the doorway holding the most precious little Russian Blue kitten. She had found him in the bathroom at the park at Lake Santa Fe and could not keep him because of her allergies.
I must have really been closed down because at first , I said no, no more kittens for me right now. Tara who usually took the opposite stance in true Gemini style suggested wisely that I just hold him and see how he felt. Maybe he would just blend in with the others.
The witch! She knew exactly what to say and knew that I just needed to hold his soft silky body to my breast and gaze into those emerald eyes and my resistance would be gone. (read on…)

BUT I DON’T KNOW NUTHIN’ ‘BOUT BIRTHIN’ NO BABY!! By Flash Silvermoon

One of the most profound experiences that I have had with an animal occurred several years ago while making a pit stop for some horse feed. This was to be a 5 minute errand on a trip that would bring my friend Julie to a woman who would introduce her to the owner of a tiger rescue downstate where she was seeking employment.
Julie spared no effort in picking the perfect attire for this interview. She was wearing a lovely pale pink shirt with matching slacks and she agonized over not curling her hair as we were running out of time. I assured her that anyone who could work with tigers didn’t need curled hair.

Our detour would take us to the BloomNSpot Appaloosa farm that belonged to my friend Betsy Bloom to pick up the feed that she had gotten for me. Betsy was off on another errand and so her young son Danny helped us get the3 bags of feed. All was going smoothly as could be until I noticed that a horse in the back pasture was lying strangely with her back leg up in the air. I brought this to Danny’s attention and fear flushed across his young face. “Oh no Flash,she’s having her baby, you have got to do something,you’re all she’s got!” he pleaded.

PLANETARY STATE OF MY UNION
I guess that Pluto planet or not thing is all settled. Whew maybe now Pluto will behave her/himself and not be so over the top.Poor thing began Capricorn as a dwarf for Goddess sake so is it any wonder that this little Napoleonic Planet would kick serious butt in Capricorn so doing the overachiever thing yet feeling somehow “less than.” Maybe now that Illinois has affirmed its true planetary status, Pluto can return to intenseity and not overkill.
I mean oh my aching horrorscope with little Pluto jumping up and down on my descendant like Bernadette Castro on her 1957 convertible sofa! Who knows just who will come knockin’ on my door with Pluto dilligently and seductively lurking at the doorway? Sort of staggers the imagination and makes one want to run for cover or at least eat a few pomegranate seeds and get a new black and scarlet wardrobe. (read on…)

Happy, Light Being in a Fur Coat

My little pup Happy is growing into a beautiful dog. Don’t get me wrong, she is still totally a puppy at 11 months old, however, I am starting to see some of her training really “stick”.
Her trainer and major fan, Melanie,has been a wonderful influence teaching her and helping me to train her through positive reinforcement.Melanie used to say that Happy had an evil twin called Snappy that came out on occasion and I was well aware of this side of her. For that reason, I felt that a firm but gentle trainer would be the best thing for both of us as well as for the sanity of the cats who she adores.

Being an astrologer, I could see the wild side of my angel in her chart and those aspects would create more problems if handled with domination. Truly whenever I tried that misguided path with her, it brought out more aggressive traits
Now simply pausing, when possible,to give her a few minutes of good attention when she is just starting to act out changes her back to her wonderful mellow self. Often when I am writing on the computer as I am now for an extended period, she would fuss and nip and now that I am stopping to hug her when she does it she comes gently and waits for her hug.
