The Beltane Fires kick off the lusty month of May on the first of the month. The Eve is also celebrated as we will do here at Moonhaven in Melrose. Earth Religions worldwide enjoy this time of feast and frolic to coordinate with the raising of the sap in nature which extends to our own warming desires and aspirations. A great time for us all to raise the fire within for whatever purpose we mjght require.

In 1976, I had the honor of meeting an Ancient Native Wise Woman by the name of Mello Rye  who shared a May Day ritual with a group of us which I have enjoyed over the years.
She told us to go to the ocean at dawn and as the sun is rising, the group should stand at the water’s edge and stamp our feet all together chanting Awak – nia over and over, this is to awaken the Earth Mother to stand up for Herself and feel the support of Her people.
This is a simple ritual practiced  in one form or another by indigenous people all over the world feel free to enjoy and share.

By May 5th, Cinco de Mayo, the moon will be full in Scorpio which always promises a level of intensity for many of us spiritually and emotionally. We are also experiencing an intensification of changes in the electromagnetic field of the planet, which as I have described in last month’s Astroflash, has been more challenging to us all including our animals.

With the Sun in Scorpio’s opposite sign Taurus, we are once again invited to contemplate our values and what we hold most dear and how does this motivate us to run our lives. The Full Scorpio Moon says, ” Very well, then, how are you willing to transform your beliefs and life to support the times economically, emotionally and  how do you use or misuse power and resources?” Important questions that we all must ponder to make all our lives work better. Because these are fixed signs, the energies may feel more rigid and they are. The issues that I bring up are likely to flare up in one way or another, personally and or globally at this time.

Word to the wise, it is always better to meet the challenge of the changes as you begin to recognize them brewing even if only incrementally rather than wait for the roof to fall on your head. By meeting these shifts before they are full blown you have the gift of meeting the issues on your own terms rather than having them foisted upon you with no alternatives when it is too late.

With Mars in Virgo opposing Chiron in Pisces, the asteroid of the wounded healer, we are being invited to find material ways to make changes that particularly move to preserve and heal our water.With Neptune and Chiron both in Pisces, it will be all about our water for a long long time.
In case you haven’t noticed, the devastation daily being poured into our oceans from  the never healed BP gusher and  hundreds of other oil spills globally and the radioactive leakage from Fukashima, we are in trouble and whoever is in office is going to have to make this a priority. [After I wrote this part, the news  broke through about a huge oil spill in Russia.] When will the oil lobbies take their collective feet off the auto industry and let them economically make the cars that Tesla designed that didn’t need petroleum? Just maybe that time is coming soon as power becomes decentralized. I’m telling you, It’s all in the stars!

As I and many of have said over the last 2 years, there has been a major cover up about this contamination and with a Scorpio Full Moon, the veil will be lifted and is being lifted as we speak. {today Apr 24 right after I wrote this the first BP engineer is being convicted of obstruction of justice for destroying thousands of posts that showed the BP leadership KNEW that  triple the amount of oil per day was leaking into the ocean, see ABC News! Finally somebody in the mainstream is also crying FOUL for BP spending $82 billion to hype the Gulf as being safe as far as food and touristry rather than paying the locals back for destroying their lives and lands not to mention the rest of the world that will inevitably suffer.

Before a healing can begin in earnest, the Powers that Were need to publicly announce and agree that these problems exist thereby ending a media blackout so folks keep your ears to the ground and your eyes to more liberal news to hear the real stories as they trickle out.

Remember that no matter how dark these times get, this world runs on vibration and the more that each and everyone of us can become energetic beacons of positive thought and action the more quickly that we can elevate and co create that critical mass to make the kind of world that we want to live in. There’s more to it but that simple and sometimes not so simple practice will keep you being part of the solution rather than part of the problem.

Saturn will be retrograde in Libra all month and Pluto will be retrograde in Capricorn and these two intense celestial bodies can really effect the global theater. When planets are retrograde, their energy has to move inward before it manifests changes outwardly so for better or worse, the fever pitch of revolutionary zeal may  slow down for a bit and simmer. Mars is out of retrograde in Virgo so we can expect some wordy saber rattling but not as much “action” as we were seeing some months ago when Uranus and Pluto were in a tighter square with each other.
In a way, this is good because these pauses during retrogrades allow us to integrate and digest the  transformations that seem to fly into our lives jet propelled.

On May 15 til June 27, lovely Venus turns her back and goes retrograde in order that we re evaluate our relationships or our desires for them. Because Venus is in Gemini, this can be a great time for integrating some deeper communication and reviewing past decisions so that more understanding and fulfillment is possible. Talk, talk, and more talk and you will find yourself in the middle of a happier day.

 A fun exercise to do with  your partner is for each of you to draw up a Top Ten Turn On list [this needn't be sexual but can include sexual things too.] You may be delighted by the  things you discover to enjoy together. Have some fun with this we all need to lighten up and enlighten up about now.  Good news is that Venus and Saturn are trine which is a flowing relationship so that some relationships are liable to find an even greater security as a result. Very important under that aspect not to let your love become stale and joyless. Make that list and check it thrice and find out if your honey is naughty or nice!

This IS NOT a great time to begin a new relationship unless you don’t care if its a permanent one as you will simply not have all the information needed to choose the appropriate partner.  If you are just looking for a fling do your thing but don’t look at a Maserati and expect it to turn into a station wagon just because you have a bond OK!
Be that all as it may, it is never the wrong time to OPEN YOUR HEARTS WIDE and that is precisely the energy that will help us all move through these times with more grace and fluidity.

Holy Light Waves gang we are due for a Solar Eclipse on the New Moon in Gemini on May 20. These Eclipses can be quite profound and can signal major shifts personally and politically. Energetically we will be getting a major download of reshaped energy and information. I have noticed that many wars have begun and ended on Eclipses and this can be a time of beginnings and endings. The energetic spiral of change that we are weaving grows ever tighter and hence faster and such times herald this quickening. Embrace the miraculous as it is quite possible that we will see miracles in many realms this year that we heretofore believed were impossible. We are quantum leaping and if you were to ask someone in 1950 about some of the things that we use everyday like Cel phones etc, they would have told you that you were crazy so, stay open for the miracles as they are coming.

According to astrologer Stephanie Austin, this Eclipse is conjunct the Pleiades Star Cluster which is venerated in many Ancient cultures. If you want to hear more about the amazing beings from the Pleiadies you can Utube The Pleiadians and listen to many beautiful videos. As some of you know not all on Utube is worth  viewing so if you find one that doesn’t ring true click it away. Astrologer Barbara Hand Clow also writes some great volumes on the subject as well.

To maintain your balance during these rapidly changing times treasure and seek moments of peace and serenity when you can find them and create them for yourself  as often as possible. Spend time in nature and with loved ones of the two and four legged variety and try to spend your free time with those who bring out the best in you and support the positive new beginnings in your life.  Many alternative healing techniques can give you relief from stress and pain. Be aware of  people who will vampirize your energy and leave you feeling empty, you deserve more and you will serve your best interests by sharing with those who give back. Obviously with illness and age that isn’t always possible but you do get what I mean. Remember its time for more balance…Saturn in Libra demands balance and so does your body, mind, and spirit.

Aries – There’s no stopping me now with Mercury and Mars moving forward. I have some Big Plans and I finally have just the right time to put them into place. Seems like I have been spinning my wheels a bit lately and haven’t been in sync either so I may need to recalibrate this brain with the rest of the planet so I can move forward more effortlessly and harmoniously with others. I just love Spring, it brings out the best in me and lifts my spirits just by looking out my window. Flash you did say the sap would be rising didn’t you, well….let her rip!

Taurus – Move over Aries  cause this is at least partly my month and I want to revel in every sensuous moment, every morsel, every warm breadth. The glowing growing greenery that blankets my home and yard evokes such a feeling of happiness and satisfaction that even the difficult things feel better. As the immortal Mae West said, “Too much of a good thing can be wonderful” and lately too much works too fine for me. While expansive Jupiter is in my sign, I am really not feeling much like curbing anything but I suppose after awhile, I will have curb everything but my enthusiasm.

Gemini – Oh it’s gonna be my birthday soon oh yes it is, and I’m gonna have a party, uh huh and I’ll invite all my friends and I will  live in a social whirlwind. With Venus in my sign and then going retro right back again, I will be the life of the party. Hmm, this loving little Gemini had better not put too many partners on her dance card or she will find that her popularity might work against her if they all find out about each other. I know this might be all well and good for the single Gemini’s [aren't we all at least doubles] but if you want to maintain your relationship, it might be best to encourage some role playing and short trips to kick in some variety.

Cancer – I just want to know one thing, why is my system so damn intimate with the planetary process? I mean I don’t mind sharing  some vibes here and there but these earthquakes and tornadoes more than rock my world. Can’t wait to start swimming so I can feel the water in a real way. The waters, they rock me in their arms and clear my energy field of all the junk that I so often pick up from my environment. OK so I’m a psychic sponge. Not much to be done about that but the water is my friend and cleans me up again. Frogs call to bring the rain and fill the Mother where She wanes.

Leo – Not a lot happening for me on this map but I will take my fire where I can get it. Fortunately I am a most creative soul and there is just enough juice out there to make my love light shine. Believe it or not this fixed old lioness is finding new ways to awaken a few interests. Don’t be surprised if you see some new project with my name on it that screams Leo front and center don’t dim the lights!

Virgo – Don’t complain if I am a little grumpy and fidgety at the beginning of the month because both the Moon and Mars are near each other in my sign.Some people thrive with a bit of chaos but it just drives me crazy. I need some order in this asylum we call life. I suppose if I were a groovier type of person I would enjoy this unbounded  more liberated energy but maybe that just isn’t me. With so much in Pisces, my opposite, I feel like I am on  a growth edge asking me to once again let go a little more and to free my mind, and as those funky Divas said, and the rest will follow!

Libra – Damn, I look at the news and my It’s Not Fair Button is pushed to the edge.
I know that somehow that old Karmic Wheel spins true but once in awhile I would like to see that Cause and Effect relationship in front of me and see things set to right.
I also know that sometimes we better be careful what we ask for because that might just be a movie we won’t want to watch in 3 D. I know that I am usually not so serious but its just how I feel right now. Might make me feel better if I knew that someone else felt this way too.

Scorpio – I am feelin’ full of Moon this month I am tellin’ you and it’s actually kind of nice. New love and feeling a new way of loving has got me singing with the radio and putting a spring in my step. Is it just the Spring? I don’t think so but I haven’t felt this relaxed in awhile. The weight of the world somehow got yanked off my shoulders and what a gift that is. I know that I am safe with some special people and that I can  really share my dreams and aspirations without fear or their resentment. What a world I live in! I hit the jackpot never mind the lottery.

Sagittarius – Send in the cavalry. Oh wait, I am the cavalry. How scary is that! Somehow, I am supposed to know just how to navigate this crazy ship of life but nobody gave me a good map or even AAA. My moral compass is pretty good but the rest feels more lost at sea. Thankfully my faith is strong and deep down I do feel like everything will work itself out just fine but between here and there  is a whole lot of territory. More meditation will  give me a more solid  sense of myself and that is just what I need. Somebody give me a piece of smokey quartz the size of a basketball.

Capricorn – By the time 2013 rolls around, I am going to have the cleanest karma
on the planet. This transformation biz is not for sissies and it can be so much easier to just keep my head down and keep a low profile but I know that we are coming closer and closer to a time when I will have to choose which side of the fence I want to support. I feel a sincere desire to become more of a leader and less of a sheep and I am going to find a way to create that opportunity.

Aquarius – Nice to feel so unencumbered. I know this is only momentary but I will take that big release when ever I can. Its time for all of us to run on something other than caffeine and adrenalin. I must confess that I like  the buzz and I would have to be asleep to not notice the increasing intensity all around me. These are the times that  we were born into and on some level we chose this period of metamorphosis, there I go again getting all philosophical but that’s me feeling full of Aquarian Age inspiration.

Pisces – Pleiadians, I hear your music on the meadows, and your whispers as I meditate. I know that help is near and that we are all in this together. I can see kindred spirits everywhere that I look and many others who have worn a cloak that rendered them invisible are standing up and clarifying the mission plan. How to piece that together with life as we know it, now there’s the rub?  I know that I feel most free when music is moving through my fingers on one instrument or another and that is my way to create a link to that wonderful interstellar grid.

Q. Could you tell us a little bit about about your path and how it has developed? What advice would you give to yourself as you were when you started out if you could talk to yourself then?


The best way that I can accurately describe  my path today as I know it is to call it The Rainbow Goddess Path.

WALKING A RAINBOW GODDESS PATH

For me, there is nothing more important than my spiritual path which I am knowing and understanding more each day. I have walked this path for many many moons calling myself or being called a Witch, Shaman,,Healer, Pagan, Goddess worshiper working with  Dianic Wicca,Yoruba, Native American, Feng Sui, Tantric paths and others.

I finally recognize and have words for this path that I walk now and it is a Rainbow Goddess Path where we honor diversity with many traditions, not to water any down, but to embrace each unique part and hold Sacred that which resonates. This does not  include the appropriation of another’s culture and passing it off as your own.
For me this is a decidedly Womanspirit path yet one that goes beyond the Western European and Celtic styles that have been the mainstay of my Dianic Wiccan circles for some 20 years.

You might think that after working for 25+ years on the Wise Woman’s Tarot, which is among other things, a Global View of the Goddess, creating Womanspirit Rising 1990, which was the first Multi-traditional Women’s Spirituality Gathering in the South at least, or surely the creation of the Annual Wise Woman Festival which is in its 8th year should  have suggested that my spirituality had gone Global, had become larger than one tradition and that this was done by me with intention or moved through me by the Goddess.

It is not unusual for my intellect to play catch up with my intuition. I essentially follow my inner guidance and do what appears to be my mission and then understand it intellectually later which is the opposite of how Western and mainstream folk go about their lives.
Being a double Pisces,I am content to swim through the cosmic waters in my own unique style and I rarely feel the need to define myself too tightly.

At this point though, it feels so important to not only claim this Rainbow Goddess Path that I walk and have also defined, but to embrace it so that I may experience it more fully and share with others of a like mind as well.
I have so enjoyed getting to know other Priestesses and Priests, Shamans, and Medicine Women whose spirituality, like mine, is as much a part of them as their own skin. It is refreshing for me to meet with others who coexist with me on the Mother who see the world through a similar and heartful lens.

The Blues Sisters

As both a Dianic Witch and one who walks a Rainbow Goddess Path, our ways are more tribal and inclusive and do not bow to the traditions and expectations of the corporate world. We approach the world with a vision and a deep dream of peace and harmony as well as a desire for us each to become a progressive flash point for positive change, justice and healing.
Leadership is important yet we need to move away from the more hierarchical ways of most traditions and seek to empower the individuals which ultimately co creates a more powerful circle.

There’s no getting away from the fact that some of us , like myself have worked our entire lives serving as Priestesses and teachers and we just plain know more, however, that doesn’t mean we should hold onto that position for dear life and not teach others to one day be able to step up as well. As a matter of fact, if we do not, our magic and wisdom will die with us

We Elders do deserve our space, honor and respect and we need to be conscious of our responsibility to help create the New World being birthed as the Blue Star whirls and swirls pitching us to and fro in this Cauldron of seeming Chaos.
It is no longer possible to”not know” where we are to place our energies. Ignorance is not bliss and we each need to find that magical space where we can be most in touch with the inner and outer Goddess as well as our personal Mission Plan.

If I could speak to little Flash when she was just a Flicker, I would affirm to her that she is wise and a very unique individual who knows how to follow her gut and that it will never fail her. I would tell her that as she does this, she will always know the right direction and that one day she will inspire and teach many women and some men how to honor the Mother and themselves.

Q. Has there been any one event or experience which has been especially important to the development of your path?

I had begun experiencing my spirituality as a teenager, opening to reading Tarot Cards, having out of body experiences and experimenting with psychometry, object reading. I had studied  the writings of Edgar Cayce, who shares my birth date, and many other metaphysical volumes but the one thing that dumped me head first into the deep end of the psychic pool was my connection with the spirit of Janis Joplin shortly after her death in Oct 1970!

I hesitate to share that fact because when you include a famous person, folks tend not to believe you but this is the Goddess honest truth.

Having a powerful spirit such as hers communicating with you on a daily basis will get anybody jump started I will tell you that. When I was a Witchlet of 20, I wondered, “Why me?”, but as a 61 year old Crone, I have come to understand exactly  why she came to me, and then it was time to tell the story.

As I became a feminist  in my early twenties and then a lesbian, Positive Magic and Witchcraft felt like just the thing for me. Marion Weinstein who wrote the book of that name was an early influence on WBAI radio in NYC. When Z Budapest came to town in 1975 bringing the first Dianic Wiccan Circle to New York, I felt like my sexual, political and spiritual world came together as we connected at Kay Gardner’s house at first as a part of the Susan B Anthony Coven and then as the new Amelia Earhart Coven. Days later I moved to North Central Florida and started the Elizabeth Gould Davis Coven which is still in existence here at my Sanctuary of Moonhaven in Melrose.  Z and I are still sisters all these many years later.

Meeting and working with Z Budapest was a life changing experience. She gave me a format for the spiritual path that I was seeking with Dianic Wicca and she is a most charismatic Priestess. The Women’s Spirituality Movement at large owes a huge debt of gratitude to Z for her work as an organizer,Priestess and author.

Q. You have been called a ‘Spiritual Renaissance Woman’; what do you think this means and do you think the term applies to you?
Yes, when I look at my website and work at balancing the projects in my life, I see the many worlds that I inhabit, I can definitely see myself in that light!

I am a Priestess, psychic, astrologer, stone healer, animal communicator and vibrational healer [which encompasses crystals, gem elixirs,flower essences, starlight elixirs, aroma therapy, Reiki, grid keeping and making, weather work, and sound healing]. I work with Feng Sui and other methods to clear and effect change in homes.

I teach, am a published author, radio personality both guest and host of my own weekly talk show every Wed 8:30-9 Pm EST called “What the Animals Tell Me” http://www.internetvoicesradio.com LIVE on Wed and Archives anytime, anywhere too this is a station with Global Reach. Lastly, and originally firstly, I am a musician and perform and record. I have 2 CD’s available of rock, blues, worldbeat, funk and jazz. I have  been performing since I was  13 in the folk clubs o NYC and then rock venues all over the country. More about that later

Q. To what extent does your path inspire your music? Does your music affect your path and if so in what ways?

Well, I am a very spontaneous person even though I can be very organized when it comes to recording and somewhat in performing and my spirituality feels that way as well. I don’t like a lot of rules and boundaries so I really enjoy playing and writing all kinds of music. I can perform spontaneous Space Music at the drop of a hat to wrap around one of my guided visualizations and draw people into the outer realms for healing and relaxation or play this same type of music and shape shift with the dolphins and whales and guide them away from the BP Oil Disaster in the Gulf of Mexico. I had Full Moon music Circles to do that for about a year. The animals really love this stuff too.

After an afternoon of teaching classes at the Wise Woman’s Festival or for some rally for Gay Pride or other Human Rights causes, I will gather up my Blues Sisters and we will tear up the place rockin’ and jamming til midnight and beyond with hi-energy rock, blues,world, funk and jazz so that we can all kick it hard and dance like dervishes to shake off the funk that can gather on us!

. Because I am a Priestess and another Blues Sister Omi Aladora Ajamu are both longtime Priestesses of our own cultures, the music we create  is absolutely elevating and engages all 7 chakras. The other regular Blues Sisters such as Pandora, Denise and Alycin are all very spiritual women as well so we can all appreciate the energetic and healing magic of music.

I like to write music that is uplifting even if I have to share a difficult subject like Katrina, in my yet to be released song called N’awlins on my Mind. Here I started off with a mournful blues tune to describe the misery and rage and then turned it into a rap over Afro Cuban drumming and even a few rounds of the Spiritual “Wade in the Water”,to bring in some of the many elements of African Music together honoring those lost. The song ends with a chant to Damballa Aweido the sacred ancestral serpent imploring  to retrieve these lost ones of the Diaspora.

“Don’t Leave them all alone,Damballa take them home…Damballa Damballa Damballa Damballa Aweido ” Each time I perform this one my body shakes and I know some of the lost are taken home.

Q. What does being an animal communicator involve? Are there any drawbacks to being able to communicate with animals?

I adore animals plain and simple and always have. Even when my practice did not involve animals specifically I did the occasional animal reading for my own animals sometimes as well as using my skills to find missing pets which is the hardest thing that I do. My Wise Woman’s Tarot even has a section on Reading For Your Pets!

After working almost exclusively for people for about 18 years or so I began working with animals in earnest partly because my own animals were aging and needed a more alternative approach than ordinary veterinary medicine. I had certainly begun learning how to communicate with them more deeply as my Shepherd Luna became paraplegic and needed me to help her get around. Her story is also in The Wise Woman’s Tarot.

The big shift was when the Vet told me that my dog Spirit, who was only 1 1/2 Years of age, would maybe live another couple of years at best due to a heart problem. First I freaked and then I got busy and found a remarkable woman, Kay Cornish Mann, who indeed was very skilled as an holistic animal healer, and she was an ANIMAL COMMUNICATOR. We hit it off and began working on Spirit and then some of my others  and in this process, I also became an Animal Communicator and my healing skills grew and were greatly enhanced by learning from my mentor. By the way Spirie, or as he came to be called, Bear, a more grounded name, lived to be 13 years old.

What I know now is that the animals communicate with us and each other all the time and that we can become part of the conversation and have a much richer relationship or we can miss that depth of connection when we assume that they are “just animals.”

Listening is the big part of communicating with animals and it means first and foremost to “expect to hear from them.” Our human chauvinism can keep us from knowing much more about their world which is quite beautiful and can teach us all a lot. This is true whether I am communicating with Daunte my tiger friend at EARS who didn’t pop right up and visit last week because he was hurting and needed a homeopathic for arthritis or when I am listening to my own dog Happy when she gives me that look to tell me that one of her cats is at the back door.

Sometimes I literally hear their voice inside my head telling me things or they may shoot me a visual or an emotion or all three. Treating them with Flower Essences, Gem Elixirs or Homeopathics is a joy as they often show healing and progress immediately unlike humans who tend to put up more blocks.

It is so amazing to see Duke the tiger lapping up Arbor Garden Flower Essence from my dropper and thanking me with big tiger licks all over my hands, he is a doll, or when the monkeys take the Lithium Quartz Gem Elixir spritz that I make and take it in their little hands and rub themselves all over and then ask for more. Sometimes as with Duke, I have been able to pull animals off the edge of death because I can hear what they need when the vets have given up and this is so fulfilling.

I am putting the finishing touches on my book about animals; Lifetime Companions: Love Never Dies, which deals with holistic healing, my adventures with sanctuary and other animals as well as my own and most importantly, reincarnation and our pets.

How could there be any drawbacks to this except for the fact that one cannot always save them all.

Q. Could you tell us a little bit about the Womanspirit Rising circle and why you created it?

Great question and good story too. It was April 1990 3 AM and I was awakened by some deep female voice telling me,”Flash you must gather the women!” OK, OK I grumbled when I wake up.” No, now the voice commanded!” By this time my whole body trembled and shook. The Goddess Herself had a plan for me and I had best be up to the challenge.

I had organized many circles and events but nothing like what I was about to undertake. Between 3 and 6 AM I got an Astrological fix on the date July 10 1990,Full Moon in Capricorn with all the outer planets making an aspect to Mama Moon. the place, Kanapaha Botanical Gardens in Gainesville Florida, and all but one of the Priestesses and co Priestesses. I wanted to create a Multi-Traditional Circle that wove together the many cultures of women on the planet, to activate all the Ancient Mothers, and so we did.

I figured that in order to have a really large circle cleansing the circle with fire and water would need a fire and water witch in each of the 4 directions to work simultaneously clockwise covering their quadrant so that  cleansing would not take the whole day. This also spread the power around and got more women involved and worked perfectly.

Without any big publicity in the papers or on line we manifested over 350 women of every age and style in this small college town with a simple black and white flier. Clearly the Goddess knew that it was time to empty the Broom Closet and activate the Divine Feminine. I also created a portion of the circle called The Ancient Mothers Speak and asked some 13 women to come dressed to represent as many different Goddesses and speak a few lines that I had written and it was absolutely stunning.

I had my friend Bahira, the Jew Witch and eclectic mix of Buddhism and New Age to call in the East, I covered the South as a Dianic Priestess, Georg Suzuki, Shaman of Native American and Japanese origin called in the West and I wanted an African Priestess to bring in the North but I didn’t know any.

This piece seemed most important and fortunately another friend told me that some Yoruba Priests had recently moved to town. I called the Baba and he referred me to Ayoka, the most serene being that I think I have ever met. She is a Priest of Yemonja, the Yoruba [Nigerian] Orisha [Goddess] of the Ocean and the Moon. She agreed to be the Priestess of the North and also call in the Ancestors and our group was complete.

Typically when you create an event you wind up waiting around for all the latecomers but not this event. The 4 of us Priestesses couldn’t even find a good parking spot 1/2 hr before Womanspirit Rising so we were high to start. I do believe this first  Circle was the most powerful that I have ever experienced and that is saying something.

Q. Your Wisewoman’s Tarot is a well-known and respected tarot; could you tell us about how you created it and your inspirations? Other than the Wisewoman’s Tarot, do you have a favourite tarot set?

Wow, The Wise Woman’s Tarot was a huge process and took me a mere 25 years. I did not originally plan on creating a new deck and book rather I thought that I was creating a good “How to book” that my many students had requested. There was this one renegade page called Visions for a New Deck and that little imperialist took over the entire project! Let me say contrary to Amazon.com,, The Wise Woman’s Tarot is not out of print and is very available through my website.

As I have stated before, I tend to listen to Spirit for my instructions and follow them when so directed and such was the case with TWWT.  I started when I was around 26, a Maiden, and she was published on Oct 31 2002. I had worked with and taught the Tarot for some 6 years before beginning this project which actually turned out to be a life-work.

Because I have deep respect for the Tarot as a body of esoteric knowledge, I didn’t want to just slap a feminist wash over the cards or repeat what anyone else had done so I researched Global Goddess herstory for 15 years.

My process with choosing which Goddesses, Gods and Heroines to match with certain cards was a total intuitive process. I did not say to myself, let’s find a Native American for the 4 of wands or an Egyptian for the Universe[my card for the World] rather I allowed thousands of years of myth and herstory to wash over me til the right match bubbled up to take its rightful place in the Major or Minor Arcana. I wanted for this deck to make a space for all cultures at the metaphysical table and particularly to reveal the fact that the Goddess, Matriarchy and even Amazonism was a worldwide phenomena just as Patriarchy is today.[hopefully not for long though]

This journey does not represent a desire on my part to live in the past but rather to update the Tarot, take it out of the Middle Ages, to give images that all races can relate, and to honor the Divine Feminine in all her glory. Some of the male deities that I show are pre patriarchal to offer a better male image and some are some of the good old bad boys of patriarchal culture like Rama.

I offer images of very familiar Goddesses like Isis, Kwan Yin, Hecate and White Buffalo Woman, Amateratsu the Sun Goddess that is still worshipped to this day by the Shinto of Japan orlesser known deities like Perchta from Germany, Sabulana from South Africa, Bochica from Colombia, Oshun from Nigeria, or Thorgerd from Iceland.

Something deep inside me pushed me onward through this seemingly never ending process of finding all the Goddesses and others to create this deck and then finding the right illustrator was quite a challenge but as you can see, Barbara Vogel perfectly executed my designs and text rendering a vibrant, potent and exquisite tribute to all these Ancient Ones. I wanted the images to be as powerful as the text and I believe she delivered just that. As I began using the  first  photos of the images in order to be able to finish  my  writing about this deck I discovered that  one of the main differences in using my deck was that it connected me to Ancestral energies, past life energies as well as deepened my understanding of the Tarot itself.

Seeing all these images spring to life and being able to wrap my words around them was absolutely thrilling and totally inspired me to bring this baby out of the womb and into the world. This could have not been accomplished without the  support and  publishing by Tara Silverfox who midwifed this labor of love into manifestation.

It was Tara’s idea to give the book a spiral binding allowing it to be very user friendly and many other details that were beyond my energy at the end of this project. Tara also had the idea to have our own pouches created to hold the book and deck rather than putting  many dollars into plastic and cardboard packaging that would only grace the landfills. We also wanted the money to make these bags to go to women.

Having lived in Afghanistan for many years Tara knew of a women’s artist collective called Parsa who had survived under most extreme conditions and we agreed to give them the job and they created the most gorgeous hand made ,hand dyed silk pouches. It felt so good to put the consciousness of TWWT into manifestation supporting women from around the world.

As far as other decks, I have enjoyed using The Secret Dakini Oracle, The Medicine Cards and the old standard Rider Waite Smith Deck. I add the word Smith to this deck as it was illustrated by Pamela Coleman Smith who rarely gets the credit that she deserves.

Q. What are you working on at the moment?

 I have quite a few projects simmering on the back front and side burners. I am doing more work at the Animal Sanctuaries lately. I will be working on a video to illustrate the many forms of holistic health care that can help the animals lead happier and healthier lives and not be bound only to drugs, in particular the primate and big cat sanctuaries.

Some of my students are making a Documentary about my life and I am about to produce more recorded music both of the Space Music variety as well as  my Hi energy rock n blues music.I am hoping to be able to record some music specifically for the animals too.

I am seeking publishers for several books that are almost complete and are being finished as we speak.

It was one of those beautiful warm sunny days that we in North Central Florida adore, especially when it comes at the end of January. I made a New Years promise to myself and the animals that I would do my best to get to an animal Sanctuary a week and since the end of December, my photographer friend Pandora and I have done just that and are just loving it.

I have a very special affection for the Big Cats and  and the women who care for them. I
I have been coming to EARS since 2001. As an Animal Communicator and healer, I  have made some incredibly deep friendships with the animals, especially the tigers and I don’t think that it hurts that I am a Tiger in the Chinese zodiac. My physical energy and stamina seem to extend far beyond my typical levels when I am there which still surprises me. Outside of my beautiful home/sanctuary at Moonhaven in Melrose, Florida, there is no place that I would rather be.

For as many times as I go to this little piece of animal heaven, I am always blown away with gratitude for the work being done at EARS and even more for the opportunity to be able to share my energies and abilities with the animals that need me. As I stand by the turnout of gentle tiger, Rick James I am overwhelmed by his tender greeting, always sweet kisses on my hands as he rubs against the mesh between us like a big house cat.

I must have racked up some nice piles of good karma to have the honor of walking amongst tigers and lions and bears Oh my! Of all the unusual things that I have done in my life,  this connection and healing work with exotic animals and especially the big cats was something that this psychic didn’t see coming.

Coming to EARS is not like going to a zoo for me even though there is always a  needed separation between the people and the animals. It’s like coming to visit my old friends who just happen to be 4 legged, furry and rather large. One must never forget that these are still wild animals, but with many of the cats and bears you would never know this by the way we interact.

The two young lions, Venus and Apollo are now roaring and Gail Bowen, one of the founders exclaimed that it was very unusual for them to be roaring at this time. I suggested that maybe they were calling us because we had promised to come back and visit as we passed their turnout when we entered the compound. Pandora and I called Venus and Apollo, our roaring friends, and assured them that we would return next time and they got quiet so it was agreed that they were only saying hello and wanted us to come back.

It is most important to share that I have been treating most of these animals since they were babies with Greenhope Farm Flower Essences,Homeopathy, my Gem Elixirs, healing energy and most importantly, LOVE. Anybody who thinks that animals don’t remember a kindness, need only view the welcome that I receive  from my 4 legged friends at EARS.Their warmth and joy is totally contagious and opens my heart to its fullest.

Delilah is a new and younger tigress but has always been extremely friendly and today is no exception. As a matter of fact, she like all the other tigresses is in heat so she is really
friendly and wants loads of attention. We rub her and talk to her and she responds with little tiger licks and a lot of chuffing which is the sound that all tigers make when they are happy. I know that being in season is somewhat uncomfortable for them and so I give her some Arbor Garden flower essence which makes people and animals feel like they are being held by the angels and it is also anti inflammatory. She seems happy for the drops and the nurturing and sprints off to roll around in her huge turnout. Before we leave that section she returns over and over for more scratches and drops.          Delilah

The animals of EARS are all happy, well fed, clean and well loved now but some, as in any sanctuary, have really sad stories of injury, neglect and abandonment. This is not a breeding facility or a place to adopt or sell exotics. The animals find their forever homes here at EARS where they are safe from exploitation and all of the other harsh ways that animals can find themselves treated.  Sadly there are some 10,000 tigers in this country with unscrupulous breeders creating more daily and they are on the verge of extinction in the wild. As much as all the  people who rescue and create sanctuaries for the exotics love their animals, we all wish that they were living in their real homes and running free.

Getting off my soap box for a moment, the reason we came to EARS on this particular day was because 2 of my lion friends who had passed away over the last few years had come to me in my morning meditation several days before.

Sierra

In all my years visiting the cats and meditating,  this had never happened so I took it seriously. Jumanji, who has had to be the most gorgeous male lion that ever lived was the first to appear and then Sierra, the lioness who I had shared many special moments with in the past. It was as if they placed their faces in front of mine one at a time so that I could see each one clearly and then Sierra looked to the right showing me an orange tiger walking away. I tried to tune in to which one it was because I got the clear message that this tiger needed my help. I had a sense that the tiger in question was Zhivah a very sweet cat who had had some problem with her front leg.

I decided to call Gail and see if any of the orange tigers were having any trouble. She said that everyone was basically fine. When I asked her about Zhivah she said that she hadn’t been doing too well since Sierra died,They were a real odd couple because one was a tigress and the other a lioness and that usually does not happen but they truly adored each other. Gail told me that when Sierra was dying from cancer, Zhivah licked her day and night as she lay with a morphine drip in her side and when beautiful Sierra took her last breath, Zhivah draped her body over her dead partner. They were so so precious.

And still, some foolish people will report after years of “study” that animals indeed have feelings!

I had treated Zhivah for grief a while ago when it was fresher but apparently she still needed some help in that process and I had been summoned by the spirit of Sierra and Jumanji to do just that. It is not impossible to get some homeopathics into the mouth of a gentle tiger and I was gambling that I would be successful by simply placing them on her tongue when she licked my hand. Because she was in heat and bouncing around a bit with her roommate Daunte I had to be quick and watch for my moment and then seize it.Yes! I was able to slide it right on top of her tongue. I wasn’t afraid because she is one of the very gentlest of the tigers and I have learned from treating monkeys how to work really fast.

When treating animals with flower essences, gem elixirs or homeopathy, you will know that you have hit your mark if they either get really peaceful, which she did, or get extremely active and exhilarated which she did later having a full on love fest with dear Daunte, another of my all time fave cats. He had always wanted to love her and be loved by her and it gave my heart such peace seeing these beautiful tigers, one white and one orange bounding and cuddling and licking each other in pure joy.  It was clear that the homeopathic that I had given her for grief had helped her move beyond her pain and loss as did the spritz that I sprayed on both of them called Illuminating White Light.

I only hope that their love affair lasts beyond her heat for Daunte’s sake. It is important for all of us to have someone to love and the Big Cats are no different.

Daunte is a tiger that I have known since he was a cub and such a sweet boy he was and is.  When he was about a year old he was  a Surprise Guest at the 2nd Annual Wise Woman’s Festival that I produce and he was the perfect gentleman and a delight to all.

Daunte was a sickly cub and almost didn’t make it on several occasions. I treated him many times and took him on as a special friend to visit regularly. At first, I thought that I might sit and read to him having heard from another source that animals liked this sort of thing and no doubt some do however, Mr. Daunte had  some better ideas for our friendship and it was called playing Pounce!

At this point in his young life, he was in a round and ample cage all by himself near the lions. He had a little house inside and when he saw me coming he would play hide and seek with me, ducking behind his little house. My job was to lean near the cage and call him pretending that I didn’t see him and then he would come flying at me pouncing in my direction as I of course  jumped backwards. He loved this more physical game and we played often and it is no doubt part of the reason that he happily comes  to me whenever I return giving me big tiger kisses all over my hands and making his distinctive happy groaning sounds that are all Daunte. So many Daunte stories to tell but I don;t want to digress too far from this beautiful day at EARS.

After treating Zhivah and Daunte I really felt  like I had accomplished my main mission for this trip but I had many more friends to visit. { Just as an update : Zhivah is much happier than before and is joyfully accepting Daunte as her new partner. I am so deeply satisfied knowing that I could make a difference in the lives of 2 of my favorite tigers}

Believe it or not, there is also a large turnout which is the home for some 6 or 7 deer not far from the cats and we stepped inside to visit  with them. I saw Cherie laying in the shade. She was the first deer that came to EARS and fortunately I was there that day s well when she arrived so small and scared after her mother  had been killed on the road. We could see that she was blind, born with no eyes and so of course she would find a home at EARS. The day she  arrived was the birthday of our dear friend Cherie who had passed away several years before and so the new little fawn was called Cherie. From that day on it seemed as though the word was out in deerville that EARS was a cool place to live and so several more wound up being given a home there.

I got to interact with Bucky and Vinny a bit and Bucky was very kissy. I gave them all some flower essences as well. They seemed amazingly placid for living so near so many big cats but all seemed quite well with the deer section.

Next stop was the huge and gorgeous white Sultan. Sometimes he may appear to be a formidable wild cat but today, he was more like a big white pussycat. I also knew Sultan as a little cub and even fed him his ba ba {bottle} on many occasions. He was a very even tempered cub unlike some of the white variety and was absolutely adorable. Hard to imagine this humongous tiger could have been so little but he was.

Today,  I can feel a little restlessness in him so I offer Sultan some drops of Arbor Garden at which point he suddenly laid down in front of us as peaceful as you please. Gail exclaimed,” That’s amazing, he just laid right down!” None of us expected such an instantaneous reaction but it really can work that way sometimes.After many Sultan kisses we moved on before he played one of his favorite games with his beloved swimming pool; splash Flash. Don’t ask!

Animals are so receptive to alternative medicine and have no need to block or question the process. All they need to know is does it feel better or not! They don’t hide their good response or rationalize their improvement like many people do by saying,”Oh maybe I just wanted it to make me better………ad nauseum” I find the honesty of animals so refreshing.

I could not leave EARS without seeing my bestest buddy Duke. My connection with him is a huge

story in itself  but let me just say for brevity that I helped save his life when he was dying.

Before reaching Duke’s compound, we passed the leopards and the monkeys and we visited with them briefly. Gail has a precious new Capuchin  that she has rescued who is an absolute doll, very young and playful and I gave him some drops which he predictably loved. All the primates that I have treated seem to love this stuff as well as the gem elixirs that I spritzed as well.

As we walked further around the bend I caught sight of the bears and they caught sight of me as well. There always has to be some bear time after all. I visited Cozy bear first and he was being kind of quiet so I moved down to Adam and his brother bear and old Mama bear who is nobody’s mom but takes on the role. Gail gave us vanilla thins to give them treats.

Bears have notorious sweet tooths and these lived up to their reputation quite nicely. Even though their larger turnout is not complete yet the cubs play happily bounding from one space to the next. They are not so small anymore and are about 51/2 feet tall when they stand up in front of me or maybe taller. They are all loving the cookies and taking them eagerly as fast as we can get them out of the bag. Sometimes the boys start to get grabby with the cookies and so Mama steps in and separates them to keep the peace. She is usually pretty shy but when she saw me giving the boys their flowers, she decided that she had to have some of the lovely flower essences for herself and then we had 3 very happy bears. Adam decided that a few drops was not enough for him and must have extended his tongue out nearly a foot to grab more and of course I gave him his reward.

We bid the bears a fond goodbye and proceeded on to the next tiger compound where Duke and maybe 8 other tigers live. Normie was out in his turnout and Judy was busy but I had one more mission to accomplish and that was to share some love with my dear friend Duke.

I knew that my strength was waning and that soon my blood sugar would be dropping so I passed up all the other cats and got over to Duke who was also snuggling up with Elke , the oldest of the tigers and another gentle soul like Duke. I got my usual loving Duke greeting, multitudes of tiger kisses as he chuffed away and rubbed up against his enclosure and me. He looked me right in the eyes  and I knew that he wanted his flowers too. I think that Duke likes flower essences better than anyone at EARS. He always surprises new comers when they see me treat him because he laps the flower essences from my dropper so enthusiastically that you would think it was steak or some meat.

I was thrilled to my core seeing Duke and Elke romancing each other. Since I have known Duke, he has lost 2 wives and my earliest treatments for him were for grief. We understood each other very well because I had also lost 2 mates in a very short time and we actually healed each other quite a bit. I would have to say that these cats have easily healed me as much as I have healed them.

Both Duke and Elke were happy to show us their new found love and I could feel my own heart bursting open at the sight of their tiger cuddling and play. I spritzed them both with Illuminating White Light Gem Elixir/Essential Oil Mix and it was if their energies lit and sparkled even more. Elke was also in heat so after I treated Duke with his fave Arbor Garden, I gave her some Animal Emergency to make the heat not as agitating. I barely had to ask her if she wanted some and she was up on her feet leaving her playmate on the ground. Her eyes looked brighter than I remembered and I could hear her say a big Yes in my head as a response to the flowers. Usually, I treat Elke ith the Caretaker flower essence and she loves to take care of babies. Clearly Duke and she

are taking good care of each other now and this is an enormous blessing.

These creatures were not meant to live their lives in cages or turnouts no matter how splendid and clean so if they can at least have the companionship of their own kind this is a gift beyond compare. I am always so grateful to my big cat and bear friends for sharing their lives with me and I try to do what I can to share my best with them.

It is always hardest to leave Duke because he and I had gotten so so close  during the summer of 05. Helping save his life was probably one of the most profound moments of my life and I will always be deeply honored to have been chosen  for the opportunity to save such an extraordinary being. Whenever I am around the big cats my heart opens   wider than I think possible and today is  no exception.

Goodbye EARS, Gail, Duke, Daunte, Zhivah, Elke, Delilah, Cozy, Sultan, Venus, Apollo, Tienamen, Cherie, Bucky, Rick James, Sebastian, Diva, MacGraw, Normie,Judy,Tom Quinn, Sue Sue, Tigger, Savanah, Rajah, and all the others and the spirits of Jumanji, Sierra and Athena. When I heard about what had happened to Janis my heart ached and my mind furiously  sought answers. The press said that there was no sign of foul play yet Janis was found dead around 1 AM that morning in the Landmark Hotel in LA with a broken nose and split lip clutching $4.50 which was change from a $5 dollar bill that she had paid to the desk clerk for a pack of cigarettes.

No drugs or paraphernalia were found in her room yet she died of a heroin OD complicated by large amounts of alcohol she had consumed earlier that night partying after the recording session for her new album,Pearl, at Barney’s Beanery.

No foul play they said, and my mind is now less numbed by pain and I wonder how she could have a broken nose, split lip, no drugs or paraphernalia and not have met with foul play?

This was all that I knew about that fateful day until Janis herself started communicating with me and changed everything.

At the time,I had searched the papers and magazines for a more comprehensive view of what had happened to her because to me the tale circulating was full of holes. No one adequately addressed the fact that she had a broken nose and split lip.
I had done a lot of body-surfing back in the day and had come into the shore nose first without breaking my nose,so I know it takes a really strong direct impact to break a nose. The news claimed that she fell out of bed and hurt herself yet the only way that she could have possibly done such damage would be for her to levitate horizontally out of bed and fall flat on her face. This does not sound at all feasible or likely. We all know that anyone who is really wasted on drugs or alcohol would likely bounce and gently roll in a fall because they are more limp and out of control so I give the reporters an F for failing to pursue this conclusion better.
The fact that there were no drugs or paraphernalia in her room should have been questionable also but more explainable.

In an article written in Rolling Stone when Albert Grossman was contesting Janis’ alleged suicide with the Insurance companies, it was suggested that the Coroner on board was known to be shady,for fixing papers and autopsies. He has since passed away so perhaps he can be more easily investigated now. There should be a new investigation of what really happened to Janis as her life was way too precious to be snuffed out without a damn good accounting!

Spring is in flower and her aroma fills my nostrils with a most sensuous awakening. With the warmth and the new life blooming everywhere, a global feeling of Hope is reawakened. We come out of the cold and dark and it feels like a brand new day, especially here in North Central Florida. I see my cats lounging in the sun not unlike their larger counterparts, the lions and tigers that I visit regularly at the EARSinc.net Sanctuary nearby you can feel that ancient feline connection to the Sun not unlike the Egyptian Cat Goddess Bast or the wild lions and tigers on the savannas or veldt in Africa.

Spending time in nature now is probably one of the single most therapeutic and joyful experiences that we can offer ourselves not just simply for the beauty but because it puts us in touch with what is REAL and important. There is nothing more crucial than the preservation of our planet and we are reminded with the energy of the fading Grand Trine in Earth signs how magnificent this world can be. Each flower, each butterfly holds the magic of all Creation within its precious form. My Meyers lemon tree is in full bloom and my daily meditations beside it are filled with an intoxicating fragrance.  It is no coincidence that Earth Day is in April.

We start the month as April Fools and of course there is always some genius inside the Fool’s journey and patter. Our genius has been severely challenged during much of March  by Mercury Retrograde’s regressive style that kept issues kind of murky and our flow fraught with obstacles often of our own making.

One wonders,” Who actually has control of my mind” as the volumes of misinformation cascade over the airwaves and we search through alternative sources on line to gather the kernels of Truth available, always culling the wheat from the chaff. If you took the time to sort through and get a good grip on your intellect and your intuition and let them share space equally you will have learned some of the best of this transit. Fortunately the current test is over with Mercury on April 4 and really the 5th when it finally moves forward allowing our new projects and adventures to fly forward. When Mercury re enters Aries on April 16 we will see life really FIRE UP!

All transits do have a silver lining if you look more deeply into the energy. We all just get impatient when we can’t get what we want when we want it. That impatient factor couldn’t be truer since we have also been dealing with a retrograde Mars in Virgo since January and it will finally be moving forward on April 13th so hold on to your hats and head because the thrust of that shift should  be quite profound. There has been a restlessness and more snippy critical words during this transit partly because Mars wants to gt moving already and Uranus being in the Mars ruled Aries is egging everyone on so to speak. This energy from Mars encourages us to find what is dead wood in our life and remove it  keeping only that which promotes growth and health. Virgo can be picky about that stuff and its all for the good now.

On April 10 Pluto will take its intensity and move it more internally as it too goes retrograde. In a way this may be helpful to the world scene because Mars moving forward can let loose the Dogs of War which have been barking at the gate and snarling behind the scenes as their Masters rattle their collective sabers putting the world once again in a precarious place.

Sweet Venus will move from sensual Taurus to heady Gemini on April 4 so lots of change in a little time with personal planets Mercury, Mars and Venus either changing direction or sign and outer planet retro Pluto taking its revolutionary zeal underground for awhile.  Be sure you get your mojo working for love this month because Venus will go retro on May 5.

This means that we really need to rock Beltane which can be celebrated on its eve on April 30 which we will do here at Moonhaven in Melrose. May 1, May Day is also a great day to celebrate and let your passionate impulses move freely. Just sayin’ if you need to make your move on the partner of your choice, the month of April should offer you some good times so do not procrastinate. Its not that there will not be any opportunities after the retrograde but the energy flow will be more challenged.

We will experience a most glorious Full Moon in Libra on April 6 ,none of the more challenging planets will out shine or dampen her light.

Whenever we deal with a Full Moon, it opposes the Sun and gives us the opportunity to gain a balance between the signs  of the luminaries. In the case of Libra and Aries, we are dealing with gaining the balance between self and other, always an interesting situation and we are given the light to see the possibilities. Good astrologers do not give up when a hard aspect rears its nasty head rather we find ways to encourage you to use the energy in the most positive ways and there always is a path for that.

Last month and for the coming months we are having major influence from strong Solar Flares, some of the strongest in years and they not only mess with the earth, tectonic plate shifts, tornadoes, tsunamis and the like but they effect us and our animals as well. I have certainly felt this and my dog has been very affected by this also and she is very level usually yet also very sensitive.If your animals are behaving differently, acting scared or nervous this could be the cause.

For both animals and humans, Flower Essences are a good source for healing as are Gem Elixirs and I use and make them. Stones are also a great support at this time particularly those of a more grounding nature like smokey quartz particularly the elestial variety, hematite,carnelian, raw ruby, agate and jasper to name a few. The New Moon in Taurus brings that earthy vibe even more into our world. We will need to focus on all the issues that preserving this Mother Earth entails from who owns and pollutes the water, to what can we eat, to where and who do we trust to provide our energy, what do we do with our garbage etc? . April 22 is Earth Day and started in 1970, now millions around the world are trying to make a difference in the sustenance of the Planet and its human and animal inhabitants.

April 30 is May Eve and by this time we will be ready for a joyful party and take the time to provide  good food and drink of a healing nature to aid  in your physical transformation this can still be delicious because this holiday encourages all aspects of pleasure. Merry Merry May Eve All.

Aries – If it’s Spring, I am singing, can’t help it , I am feeling the joy and all the new growth.There is something in the air and I can feel it in my bones solar flares or not, its electric and I feel more optimistic than I have in a year or so. Look out world this Ram is ready for some action and when Mars finally gets the lead out I will be flying! OK I will have some flight plan and backup because Uranus in my sign still can be unpredictable.A good parachute is never a bad idea.

Taurus - Move over Aries and let this Bull live large and in charge. Ooh loving this sensuous energy, the fragrance alone is enough to make me have a hot flash.There are so many things that I want to do for my birthday month and now I have the resources to do it too thanks to Venus and Jupiter playing ball last month. I want to sing and dance and snuggle up with my honey all day and night. Do I have to wait til Beltane? Please please I have waited long enough.

Gemini – Ooh Venus comes into my sign soon! Yippee! Yes I know I better move fast as soon as my ruler Mercury get’s the hell out of retrograde geez, pain in the butt that one and then I gotta make it happen before May 5?. Fortunately I can move that fast and have a few honeys lined up for some good times. Now don’t go thinking that I am a slut or anything crude like that but I always like to have a selection before I make my choice because Goddess knows I do not like to be bored!

Cancer -  Tell you what, I like this more water thing so nice to have more Piscean energy to float around. Uranus in Aries gave me a real kick in the consciousness and raised the bar on many levels but Neptune in Pisces is sweeeeet and I know some of you find it confusing but I find it soothing. Goddess knows I needed some balm for my soul after 2011. I don’t need peace all the time and a little buzz puts some fun waves in the pool.This Spiritual Warrior likes to have a challenge as long as home feels like a mellow sanctuary.

Leo - Nothing really clicking in my sign just yet but like the lion that I am, some good sun brings out the diva in me and I can feel drawn to that light like a moth to a flame. Somehow my heart has opened more through this winter and I am quantum leaping through the fields of joy like a little cub. I am getting older but it seems lighter can that be? All good with me I am not attached to a linear world that would tend to test my patience.

Virgo – I don’t mean to be a party pooper but when will I feel a little peace inside this nervous body? I feel settled and it only lasts a minute.I thought that I had it more together than that. I know that I should not be so hard on myself and Worry is not any kind of meditation except to bring me down to the what ifs and the worst case scenario. Mars is sunning the show and running me ragged. I don;tr need to do more I need to be more.

Libra – Will the scales of Justice ever balance and will the Goddess that sits with the American scales ever strip off her blindfold and see the Light? OK so I am being philosophical now but sometimes one must speak out for injustice when it is right in your face. As Ella Baker said, “Until the killing of Black men, Black mothers’ sons is as important as the killing of white men white mothers’ sons; we who believe in freedom cannot rest until this happens” Off my Soap Box and snuggling with my partner.

Scorpio – Libra that’s pretty deep and if I was on FB I would Like it! The vibes are sure getting thick out there and I can really feel the Shift  coming from a mile away in fact my psyche is working overtime to process and react to all of this stimulus.Am I on the brink or are we all on the brink of a major download of new information,are the Greys landing or is Japan falling into the ocean? Solar Flares or do I just need to get off gluten? Spinning and rolling in the deep as it were.

Sagittarius – Ooh baby ya know that its a wild world…..and I surely am ready to see more of it. Maybe I can just afford a good brownie or a psychic magic carpet ride but whatever I can get would be great about now. The mundane is just not working for me anymore. I want to rub that lamp and have Jeanie or Genie pop out and grant me just one wish. I would be generous, I would share whatever I got. OK time for  some lottery tickets I could take a good gamble,’cause something has got to turn my life into the magical mystical tapestry of my dreams.

Capricorn – Good, Pluto is going retrograde, I like that so he can get off of my back for awhile at least. If the little demoted dude has to walk backwards for awhile maybe I won’t be tormented by his idea that constant transformation is fun and games.How many times does one person need to shed their skin, I ask you? I tend to like rules and floating around in this  limbo makes me feel agitated. Hard work I can do but cosmic free fall is a dimension that leaves me feeling totally ungrounded. Maybe some stones would help this  too fragile earth sign feel more centered and I can build on that.

Aquarius – I am happy that Neptune finally got out of my sign and allowed me to feel much more like my airy self however, now with so many planets in earth signs I can’t feel the buoyancy and bounce in my step that I like. I don;t mean to whine that’s really out of character but I figure that I should be able to define my world a bit better, after all I have that ability to manifest my reality by creative visualization and I think I will creatively manifest a journey to the Pleiades and dance among the 7 Sisters.

Pisces – Find the Water, that is what Spirit said to me last week and I definitely need to get myself in some H2O soon. My dolphin spirit needs to frolic in a way that I can only be in the water. On another level I am being told to find the FLOW, find the way I can be as water in all situations to make life more beautiful and gentle. I like that idea and with Neptune and Chiron in my sign this should be pretty easy as long as I allow for that possibility, let go of the wheel and only take out the oars to guide myself when I need to steer around the boulders.

Water water everywhere as we descend or perhaps ascend into the mystical waves of Neptune and Pisces.  We begin the month with 4 planets in Pisces including slow movers Neptune and asteroid Chiron. The latter planets are certainly providing us with the overall sense of fluctuation that we are feeling.  The light side of Neptune can offer us deeper more profound visions than any other planet and can elevate our spirits to the highest dimensions. As a double Pisces, I do feel as though a long yet unknown thirst has been quenched and my psychic work has gotten deeper and more profound.  I am even enjoying my work with people and animals more which is a lot.

For those who like their world very tidy and hate to have to color outside the lines or have too much freedom this energetic pattern can be  unsettling. In a way, so much has shaken loose with the beginnings of the Uranus /Pluto square that those who  may have started their path to liberation under these aspects are experiencing a “free fall feeling” now. For some that much freedom can be terrifying.

For example, someone can be stuck inside a bad marriage or job and tolerate  a slow death of boredom, pain or abuse for maybe 20 years or even 7 years these days and finally they decide to break their chains and leave the in tolerable situation. First there is the elation of moving away from the bad situation and then……WHAT? They are now free to choose a path and that can be very scary for some and is part of the reason that they were stuck in the first place! Hard for me to understand being Uranian and Neptunian in nature, but some people don’t like having choices!

Because these planets are strong in my chart, I am feeling tossed back and forth by these 2 distant yet powerful luminaries.

Not everyone responds well to being in transition, not having a clear boundary as to where  to take that next step while for others this can feel like a grand adventure. Either way, we are all in transition energetically whether we like it or not. I suggest those that are  feeling the fear,  strap on a kind of “spiritual life jacket” and become a swimmer and you will begin to feel some of the more soothing energies of Neptune. [ There goes my Uranian "just do it" style]
This can be a time that tests one’s Faith and it can also be a time of deepening your sense of belonging to a greater whole.

As Uranus blew into Aries last year many of us became  aware of what we are NOT as Uranus divides and separates and calls attention to what is unique. Sometimes this could manifest as your becoming separated from your job or home because of an economic structure that is in a state of revolution. The 1 % has been creating a situation where it is becoming more and more detached [Uranus] from the rest of the people and for many that care to be observant, this is very unpopular.

Some of the 99% rebel and get into the streets world wide and raise all kinds of hell as they feel excluded from ever getting even a nibble of that old carrot, The American Dream.
Some of that group rebel against the inequity carrying the Uranus in Aries flag with a spirit of high adventure and begin to discover ways of having true participatory Democracy within their ranks. Some join just to join something, to be swept up in the Neptunian Wave where the edges get blurred and at least they belong to something that  resonates in their souls.

Others stay numb [also Neptunian] and hope all this Change stuff will just go away, I will call them the Slow – mos as they want everyone to move slowly, so they can shuffle along living life as they have known it, dull perhaps even painful but predictable. Uranian energy however will not be deferred and will find a way to erupt even in the most conservative of minds and we can see the creation of the “Scapegoat” IE gays, people of color, “illegal aliens” etc. These folks must be ejected from their midst as if they are as contaminated as the Gulf Waters and then their narrow little pond will be quiet and fine.As you can see these planets are neither right or wrong, left or right rather they represent a kind of energy.

Whenever an outer planet like Neptune changes sign, we can expect major changes in our socio – political landscape as well as the landscape itself. Neptune has been in and out of Pisces over the last year as well as the Asteroid Chiron also known as the Planet of the Wounded Healer. During that time we experienced the Gulf Coast Gusher which, counter to what BP would have you think, has ruined the  Gulf Seafood industry and so much more.Neptune along with being extremely Spiritual, can be extremely deceptive.
The lies,cover-ups and mis-information just about this disaster alone are shocking.

The last 14 years with Neptune in Aquarius we had our share of deceptions and some of the later events occurred while Neptune slipped in and out of Pisces as the slippery spin doctors did their dastardly dance on our lives and rights.

Astrologer Eric Francis said,”I am concerned about how and why we have taken some of the greatest con jobs in modern history so casually: fake wars, stolen elections, massive systemic heists of public funds, by the people who are charged with guarding them.”

It is my sincere hope that we can manifest the best that these planets have to offer by not being fooled again!

Neptune also rules the Entertainment business because it manifests and capitalizes on our dreams, fears and fantasies. It is no wonder also that those who become a part of that industry can also be swept up in the undertow of drugs and alcohol which are also Neptunian. Illusion is a very Neptunian word and sadly these performers are or at least feel forced to maintain the illusion of being FINE even if they are  dying right in front of us. Hence the need for drugs, deathly diets, no sleep, loss of family and friends…whatever it takes to keep up the illusion of this death machine that devours its own.

As you might imagine, I am grieving over the newest casualty to the culture vultures, Ms Whitney Houston! As I write the word casualty, I find it to be a stunning message about how casually we have come to accept these deaths. She follows a long list of sensitive people who were devoured by the music machine, Amy Winehouse, Michael Jackson and so many more that we know and will never know. When executives tell you that you are worth more dead, as they did to Chaka Khan several years ago, and you see the prices on Whitney’s CD’s go up 1/2 hr. after her death hit the news, I think that the evidence is obvious and disgusting. Are these deaths to be considered murders? I don’t doubt it with Michael and surely with John Lennon and Janis Joplin but there is plenty of blame to go around with many others not the least of which falls to pop culture.

OK this Pisces just got swept up into a Neptunian whirlpool and will swim to the safety of the Full Moon in earthy Virgo on March 8. Virgo is opposite the sign of Pisces and just in case you haven’t noticed, the Full Moon is always in the opposite sign of the Sun. With all the Piscean energy present, we will feel a distinct strong pull on our energies as we try to accommodate both energies. The ruling planet of Virgo is Mercury which rules our mental and communication skills and we may feel our nerves frayed because retro Mars will be slipping by La Luna as she becomes full. Watch your words  as they may return to bite you especially with retro mercury coming right up!

Ah yes dear little Mercury Retrograde, you subtly slid by my watch last time but I got ya now. As my readers know this can be a challenging time to get things accomplished and basically you want to have anything that needs to fly forward completed by a day or so before March 11 as other wise you are asking for an uphill fight. If you don’t care about  a job or relationship being temporary go right ahead but if you are seeking permanence best to wait until April 5 when Mercury once again moves forward.

With Mars still moving retrograde in Mercury ruled Virgo, we are being invited to use our mental energies in the most constructive ways. In the words of the great Bob Marley in his Redemption Song, ” Emancipate yourselves from mental slavery, none but ourselves can free our minds..” This is the job at hand for all of us to keep our thoughts positive, clear and focused on what we do want and also to keep our intellect from becoming a dominatrix over our intuitive side.In Patriarchy that is how it is supposed to work mimicking the domination of women but with the strong presence of Neptune in our lives both women and men will need to

give our intuition a wider berth to make the most of the psychic gifts that we will be offered.

On the 13th, Venus and Jupiter will be conjoining and in addition they will  form a trine to Pluto on that same day. With all the other retro planets in place, I can see where this will be a memorable day on many counts. Personally this could really open up a relationship and or create some real fireworks too. Wall Street should show some kind of a major event unless of course it is shrouded in secrecy. There could be a false flag event on or before this day and our economics may well seem to expand and then sink.

Since lies and or Mis information created the Iraq War, and the strength of a new planetary shift often manifests strongly in the beginning, we may see some”event” created to push us into a war with Iran so keep your ear to the ground as you will not likely get the truth on network TV. The Revolution may well be Televised but as for the rest, who knows.

Get ready for the Ides of March, March 15 when we will enjoy a Grand Trine in Earth signs including Jupiter conjoined with sister Venus, which is trine  [harmonius aspect] Mars which is trine Pluto with the Moon closing in on Pluto later in the day. This is a very “can do” kind of aspect and each part reinforces the other in terms of positive energy and enthusiasm. This is a time  when we’re apt to push the envelope of our reserves and we might just pull it off. Venus and Jupiter will be playing footsie for most of the month so absolutely Make Love Not War as love should be abundantly available particularly the sensuous kind with both Venus and Jupiter still lounging around in Taurus.

As we approach the Equinox on March 20 at 1:15 AM EST we can feel the power building for forward motion with so many planets in Aries leading to the New Moon in Aries  on the 22nd. When Mars  opposes Chiron we may see some kind of major earthquake, seismic activity,  accident or spill that further damages our beloved waters. Hopefully the truth will be told but do not count on it.
We are being coaxed from within to take a stand and make choices to be the Amazon Warriors for what we truly believe and there will be many opportunities to test our mettle.

We are being asked not to drink the “kool aid.” and instead to make sure that everyone has pure cool water to quench their thirst.

Unfortunately with Mercury, Saturn and especially Mars in retrograde at this time the movement will likely be more of a sputter than a zoom. Patience will be needed during this time and redirecting the energy so that we can use what is available to clean up our baggage and past issues so that we can go flying into our next cycle unencumbered.

Retrogrades or not, Spring is here and the flowers will bloom and the sap will rise within and all about so enjoy the spirit of new beginnings as is the season and prepare to be in full swing next month. Great time for Spring Clutter Cleaning to make room for the new as you will undoubtedly have many new gifts to enjoy by the end of Magical March!

Aries – Wow what a time to be alive! If it weren’t for the pollen I could breathe deep but not even the pollen can bum me now as everything is falling into place and I have more energy than I thought I could hold in this body. My physical world and my dream world are starting to mirror each other and it is quite delightful. I am eager to sink my teeth into some new projects that challenge me mentally and to really have some good fun just being me. You know ya wanna play with me really no one better!

Taurus – Here I am come take me I am yours and I am one tasty lady.” If you are good you can come up and see me some time, but if you’re bad you can come up and see me now!” [thanks Mae West] I don;t know if its spring or me but my pulse is beating and my body is heating. Retrograde Shmetrograde I want a lover and ideally one that won;t drive me crazy. Even a little crazy wouldn’t be too bad as long as its worth it and feels really good. For me its all about how it feels and now that’s even stronger

Gemini – Oh damn Mercury why do you have to go backwards now just when I am getting ready to spring into action again? I guess I best watch what I say and remember who I say it too so I don;t get too tangled up in retro mess.Can’t a story just be interesting whether it is 100% true or not? I have been weaving some tall tales for years and maybe they will become a book if I can settle down and put both sides of my brain to it. That’s the trick now isn’t it, for both of us to work together.

Cancer – Water yes Love it but I am not sure lately whether to swim or surf! Is this the time to bask in the warm springs or ride the wild water? I am drawn to both and in the immortal words of Mae West, “When torn between two evils, I generally take the one I haven’t tried yet!” Hm that sounds a little bawdy for my shy self but I guess even we quiet ones get to raise some hell once in awhile. Either way, I wanna do my playing in the water and shed all the dross and heaviness from last year. Take me to the River…and drop me in the water!

Leo – I am grooming myself daily and I am getting more glorious. My mane shines in the sun and each hair glistens with electricity. I can feel the sense of my mate approaching in every fibre of my body, her scent fills my nostrils and I can hardly wait to see her slinking into my den. I hope that I can sustain my patience or rather fight against impatience. This is not my strong suit but my ability to charm and delight my partner more than makes up for that. Everything that you might have heard about me is true and then some. This is not just an empty promise. I am the real deal purrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.

Virgo – Mars has been such a pain in my butt just grinding on my last nerve. Why do I have to always second guess myself, fight with myself and generally barrage my brain with repetitive negative messages? Enough already why not just be happy for all my blessings and recognize the wonderful person that I must be to have  earned such blessings? I work harder than most, give more than most, when will that be enough?
OK I get it I am in control of this merry go round and I can get off or change the speed anytime and I am.

Libra – Is anything fair? I surely hope so as a mater of fact I am counting on it  and have based my life on trying to even the scales and strip the blindfold off Lady Justice who is only stripped of her sight in this country. I want to live with beauty and peace and I need that more now than ever. I am finding that the more quiet I am right now the bette I feel. Sometimes the world gets on nicely without my input. Let’s call this recess and I need to review all the lessons of the past few months so I can learn some new ones.

Scorpio – I feel the call of the Barred Owl drawing me deep into silence. There is a mystery and I am entranced by the magic that I feel brewing deep inside making tingles in my skin. What adventure does the Goddess of Love have in mind for me this night or will I just have to see for myself as midnight moonlight crests over the giant pine trees.My body always tells the truth although the nature of one’s mind may not. There is a knock on my door, a blend of musk and rose is on the wind, and I am opening up.

Sagittarius – Once in awhile I get to really feel alive and this is my chance and I am taking it. All roads need not be taken but the right one, yes and which one is that right road? This is serious and I am rarely serious but I want to launch my enthusiasm towards an attainable goal while I have this buzz of energy at my disposal. I know that it is much easier to keep momentum going than to try to restart so I am going to make  this energy really work for me. Look out here I come.

Capricorn – I have gotten too used to dodging bullets in my professional life and I would  love to be able to pull down this shield that seems to want to stay up 24/7. This won’t be easy but full body armor is no fun for anyone especially me. Why I haven’t felt this skin in years! Seriously and I can be too serious I want to feel the sun warm my face and not just feel the dregs of light as I drag myself home. Wanting is a good start and hopefully soon I will be basking in the warmth of a generous springtime

Aquarius – Glad to be feeling more like myself again. I swear Neptune my have some good qualities but mostly I just felt like it messed with my life. Pisces, you can have your water back, I much prefer my pristine mind, clear focused and I daresay brilliant at times. Truth be told my intuition is cranking like I never could have imagined . I just didn’t like living without  any boundaries. Yes mine have moved a bit and I am more flexible too. Guess I better say thank you Neptune as Gratitude is a better attitude.

Pisces – Waves of gratitude is my attitude as all my parts feel lubricated and soothed by Mama Neptune.I didn’t realize just how much I was missing the water and now that I am surrounded by it  its like I feel more in my own element and can be myself even more. No wonder my psychic skills are crazy good and my creativity is busting out. Yes water yes this is so nurturing and feels so damn good. I will remember to ground myself in meditation and not let my energies run everywhere like water likes to do. Maybe this is the time for my wave to carry me to fulfill my purpose.

Raise the Vibe for the Tribe/We Won’t Be Fooled Again

I moved from NYC in ’75 to be here in Florida in the country near a larger community to prepare for these “Interesting times”, not that I am as prepared as I want to be.

This is an important time also to consider your spiritual resources and find ways and tools for  grounding and self nurturing and healing. Gathering with like minded others is more and more important to help and guide us with a support system ideally close to home. Many of us also can find this on line if not locally.

Funny as I  place these words on the page a storm outside is turning the power on and off as my fingers hit the keyboard

It is so important not to fear and panic though the economy is certainly a scarey wild ride and folks are scrambling to find something solid to hold onto as a bunker against diminishing financial security.

I think the gathering of food is a really good investment
within reason and gathering  supplements and the kind of things that we need that will keep is good planning as well. Basically the more self, and community sufficient that we can be will surely help us through uncertain times.
Focus in on what’s really important and try to make the best choices on how to sustain those things. I do think that getting out of big cities overall is one of the better things to do. I am hoping to be able to put some of
my small savings into some solar stuff. Obviously the more off the grid we are the better and some of that may just not be possible for many. Cultivating good neighbor relations is important too.
I think above and beyond all is the need to keep our spirits and thoughts elevated and positive because we know that the universe also runs on vibration and

RASING THE ViBE FOR THE TRIBE is one of the things that I try to do in every way possible. This culture runs and is motivated mostly by fear so we really need to try not to become victims of their well architected plan to dominate and enslave.
I know, easy for a Pisces to say and yes we need to  deal with physical reality as well but we must not let the fear mongers cow us into a frightened herd.

The Occupy Wall Street Movements are heartening in that there are finally signs that the populace is not willing to be sheeple and will not keep slurping down the corporate Kool Aid that has been masquerading as real life for way too many years. There is some space for optimism here and the people united truly cannot be defeated.

As one of those veterans of many many street battles,  marches and demonstrations and building takeovers from those fabulous sixties, it is heartening to see that Free Radicals are not something we want to remove and that the Teabaggers are not the ones taking over the streets!

It is however not enough to just repeat our previous style of rebellion because these times require a true paradigm shift with the energy changing from the ground up as well as the top down and our spirits must engage in this process. Not everyone necessarily needs to have the spiritual focus that I do nor do I need to have the same exact focus as another but somehow we must approach these changes holistically with body, mind and spirit engaged.

Perhaps the Revolution is gonna be televised after all!
